Tibala

Tibala is the earthly incarnation of Datheros’s last remaining god. Though he is not omnipotent in this form, he is very powerful in his own right, and has a form of immortality: if his physical body would die, it dissolves, and he is able to reform in half-a-century or so. Tibala has a degree of separation from the god he is part of: he does not have omniscience (though he retains godly knowledge of everything that happened before he incarnated), he can’t directly communicate with his godly self, and he is just as capable of acting against his god’s morals as anyone else. 

Tibala is pompous in both style and personality. He thinks highly of himself, and sees nothing wrong with that; after all, if he’s as powerful as he says he is, then he’s not bragging, right? He is very stylish, and dislikes having to wear duller or more “formal” clothes. No matter what, he always wears his earrings and gold bangles on his tail. 

Despite his conceited personality, he feels no shame in helping others. He can come off as condescending, but he really just wants to give a helping hand to anyone that needs it. He also enjoys flirting, mostly in jest. He finds it fun to fluster others with grandiose gestures and flowery words.

He knows the truth about Erene, and in fact one of the reasons he exists is to restore her to her godly form. The god in him hopes to teach Erene that mortal life is worth living, despite all the sadness it contains. Erene trusts him more than anyone else.
