A son of a noble family and a holder of office within the government, Romeus is unfortunately one of the few kind souls with power who is not aware of the true nature of Covens. He is caring and sweet, and believes the hatred of the Rebellion towards the government is based upon misunderstandings that could be patched over with discussion.

He can be somewhat clueless about animosity between others, or even animostiy pointed at him, which is why his best friend Ben, who is much more aware of the darker side of the world, can be protective of Romeo.

He is an avid fan of Antares as well as a would-be suitor from his first night hearing her, if not for the belief that the cold gaze she would give was because of something he did, rather than because of his uniform and what it represents for her.

Eventually, he saves her from a group of ruffians, and when he tries to leave right after in consideration of her feelings, she asks him to walk her back to her home. As they walk, she talks with him, and he is carefulnot to speak of his feelings for her, in worry of burdening her. However, as they reach her home, she kisses his cheek goodnight, and the words rush from him.

They begin to tentatively date, Romeus unaware of Antares' position as part of the Rebellion, nor the fact that she had begun to date him in an effort to gather more information, though she falls just as deeply for him. Time will tell if their love ends in happiness or tragedy.
