Briseis was freshly 12 years old when she broke her mother's heart by leaving home to set out on her very own Pokemon journey... In fact, she was the first girl to do so in recent memory of her family! But she ought not know why that is. Her mother made a good call by deciding not to tell her why the family has always been so fiercely protective of its girls, about the curse that may have befallen its girls.
Do you remember the color of lips too frozen to speak? Maybe a boy won't turn that color. Why must a girl always climb up and up?
Unaware of the horror story in her name, cold and fragile like ice itself, Briseis remains a wide-eyed and optimistic girl throughout her journey - utterly confident, and excited to see the world... But the curse catches up with her when she least expects it. What is the ocean but a future prison of ice?

CHRYSEIS
Intertwined and thrumming. Chryseis has always been horribly jealous of Briseis, the apple of his own grandfather's eye, and that's manifested in antagonistic teasing back and forth - but nothing too serious, it's all meant playfully. There's just years of resentment behind it. Despite knowing all this pretty clearly, Briseis can't help but be fond of Chryseis, and want to be his very best friend. There's a bit of a complication around the halfway point of the story, though, that leads into a downward spiral. What did you do to that Raticate, anyway? Cry, cry. Climb to the highest place you can find, and freeze.
GIOVANNI
It is Briseis' calling in life to cause problems for this man, on purpose. I mean, can you blame her? At this point, he's literally organizing Pokemon murder and trafficking. Though, come to think of it, doesn't she see a little bit of herself in him? It's fun to punish him, it's fun to punish herself. Haha, hilarious!
