I met him in high-school when we were both freshmen. Yeah, we were really good friends. How do you think we ended up together? We were friends at first, but looking back on things ... he was always a little off-putting. I guess I looked past it in the moment. On the second day of our sophomore year he asked me to be his girlfriend. It took me by surprise to say the least. But it was a good surprise I think. Well, at the time anyways. We got married when we were 19. You know what they say; young and dumb and all that. I never saw the red flags. They were blaring sirens but I was deaf to them. It was all good at first.
