* goes by burning as a nickname
* warrior of riverclan (original) -> windclan (rewritten) -> riverclan (rewritten) -> starclan / the isle of stars
* leader of the isle of stars

* born in the original world's riverclan
* had many friends!! (dawnwave, willowpebble, silentscream, moonblossom, sunnypatch, iceblast, lioneyes, lionsprint, etc)
* mothered many kits as well, the most relevant to this story being blindkit, who would grow up to lead riverclan in the rewritten world

* before fully dying, she actually got killed a few times beforehand
* her first death was to ripplestar, another clan's leader, who'd challenged her to a one-on-one fight
* she rejected offers to be resurrected from friends, but after clover fought ripplestar herself (and with some influence from a young seer) she was resurrected
* by technicality, she was also killed in the shutdown, but when she came back to the rewritten world she was separated from the clans

* she was happy with clover and ivy, but at one point she did try to go back to the clans, which caused burning to align herself with windclan for a time
* the only reason it was windclan was because her old friends were there and she'd been told by the leader, tulipstar, that river was lost in the shutdown.
* it wasn't. it never was. she knew that. and it was true. and eventually burning left again after realizing the clan didn't give her the same joy as it did before.

* this time it was supposed to be permanent, but when she heard that her son had been killed not just by windclan, but by tulip herself, she knew she had to go back.
* and she did. she went back to a now-kind-of-around-again riverclan, ready to dish out some cold hard revenge against her son's killer.
* it was here that she and dream world learned a shocking truth: tulipstar was a rewritten ripplestar, bringing these enemies' personal feud full circle.
* inevitably, a war broke out between river and wind. in the fight, burning made a beeline for tulip, and the two got into a vicious battle that ended in one of tulip's lives being taken.

* the last thing burning heard as everything went dark was the rising cry that tulipstar had been taken down.
* she later succumbed to her injuries for the final time, knowing she got her justice against the clan that took her son from her.
* she wandered starclan, and eventually found blindstar, reuniting with him briefly before going back to the island she knew and loved so dearly for so many years.

* soon after that, the isle of stars was created as a place for the warriors of dream world, a separate plane where they wouldn't have to interact with twolegs so they had a place of sanctuary on the island...
* and wings immediately knew who could lead it.

* might be an incarnation of wingpaw, or at least has a piece of her thought inside her. probably saw her when she was younger
* was incredibly heartbroken when ivy lost her memories -- she knew prewrite ivy well and almost saw her as a little sister (and still does), despite ivy technically being the oldest out of herself, burning and clover
* thick as thieves with clover!! grateful they're still friends even after everything they've been through together
* sees herself as a mother / guardian / mentor figure to younger ones on the island, most especially rosepaw due to the timeline she comes from
