Summary
Rey had been used to the battlefield from a very young age, tagging along with his father and older sibling despite them telling him to stay behind. He had a fascination with watching them fight, and foolishly believed they were invincible and could easily take down any sour candies. Until one day, Rey's dad got killed in battle; the last he saw of his sibling was them getting taken away by a sour. He tried to step in and helped, but barely got near before he got attacked and decided to flee instead.
Rey ran around in pain and panicked trying to find someone who could help. That's when he met Cali, a kind Sugar Skull who took him in and offered them a place to stay in after realizing he could not go back to his family anymore. Rey was resentful over this sudden change, and kept taking it out on the easiest target- Marzie, another candy who lived with Cali, and whom he also resented for being so fragile and yet being alive.
Since then, Rey's been living with the two of them and hitting the battlefield once he was old enough for it, admittedly getting saved by Marzie more often than he'd like to admit.
Design
• Entirely made up of bread. Bit of his hair are covered by a streusel topping and adorned by bits of dried fruit.
• He's pretty squishy-
• Oh jesus I don't have many design notes for them whoopsies.
Battle
• Rey summons up to 5 "mini rosca" explosives at a time.
• There is a 5 second cooldown before he can spawn a new bomb after it's been set off.
• The explosives have a 50/50 chance of going off. The explosion is relatively small, but enough to stun and/or cause some damage.
• During a sugar rush there will be no spawn cooldown. Bombs still have a 50/50 chance of going off.
• After a sugar rush, the total number of summoned bombs will add up and Rey won't be able to spawn any for the next few minutes or even hours.

Cali
Rey's best friend and caretaker; Cali took him in when he was younger and he appreciates it a lot. He really enjoys fighting beside her, and is relieved they can agree on a bunch of stuff regarding the war and sours. She's probably the one candy Rey trusts the most.
Marzie
Ughhh. *Her.* Rey can't quite put his finger on it, but something about Marzie just irritates them. He gets a kick out of proving he has more power over her, yet tries not to abuse it so Marzie won't leave him to die should it come down to it. She probably wouldn't- they're friends after all! ...Pfft.
Morita
Another candy he can't stand- it's Marzie's fault they keep running into her and Pelón! They're fun to fight, he'll admit, though the fact no one has ever hurt anyone badly enough is frustrating. Wish someone would do something already- it's getting boring.
Pelón
It's a tough choice whether he hates Morita or Pelón more. He's pretty strong, yet he holds back way too much- it's like he doesn't have the intention of causing damage! If they're not going to kill anyone might as well just leave them alone, ugh!
Reba
Finally, a worthy opponent! Rey's first opinion of him was that he was "too soft", and was pleasantly surprised once he realized his explosives were pretty effective against the gummy. However, Reba turned out to be stronger than he had bargained for, with Rey nearly dying after their first battle. Just you wait, it's not over yet!
