• Lives on his fishing boat, inherited it from his grandfather who had it passed along to him prior, the boat was in poor shape when it came into his ownership and he spent considerable time and caps to upgrade the boat to fulfill his needs. Parts of the hull and the anchor are the only pieces that remain from the original boat, the anchor especially having an old story tied to it about being imbued with luck and protection for those who take it to sea. Most of his caps went to adding spells that provide magic utility, which meant he had to handle most of the repairs, structural additions, and comforts himself making for a very personalized space.
• Live on his fishing boat throughout the year, even through the winter though he often docks at the nearest turtonic island whenever the temperature drops and the ice and snow start to take effect. During the winter he'll take up wood carving and carpentry, skills he developed while working through the repairs and furnishing of his boat when he initially inherited it. 
• Some of what he makes is sent to Retro who will apply magical effects to woodwork he is given and sell it on, a mutually beneficial arrangement that came about when Gethin initially met him for his initial boat upgrades. When they first knew each other, Retro was still an apprentice working under another artificer and the work was passed along as a test of his skill. They worked closely at the time, Gethin providing the materials and Retro working his magical skill, staying in contact after and forming a business relationship once Retro completed his apprenticeship and struck out on his own.
• Has two nieces, Vi and Maple who he sets aside several days to visit whenever he docks back on their home turtonic. They'll share a meal, take part in an activity Maple enjoys and then he'll take the girls out on his boat to teach them a bit about fishing and impart the finer details of his trade. He secretly hopes that Maple will take an interest in his work so he can take her on as an apprentice and then pass on his boat once she's grown and secure in the trade, but he has yet to win her over to the fishing obsession... one day.
