About
Darken is a fox who would rather deal with things as they come, letting the world change around him however it wants to, rather than trying to make a huge difference. He tries to believe that the actions of any one person don't have the ability to change the world, but life constantly gives him reasons to believe otherwise. In reality it's less about anyone making a differance and rather himself, He feels that almost anyone but him is better suited to make a contribution to the world than he is and will do the best he can to ensure that those people are able to do what he cannot. Darken cares very much how people percieve him, and worries a lot about what people will think if he steps out of place. He hates to talk about his past, and would much rather focus his time and effort on something useful. This could be tinkering or work, but more oftan the former than the latter. In addition, the grey fox prefers to steer away from violent encounters, pain inflicted is pain regardless of who receives it. That isn't to say he can't get angry. Anger is a natural feeling for anyone. He prefers to keep a more freindly and calm appearance, but can put his foot down in a time of neeed.
Appearance
Darken's height is standard, slightly shorter than the average fox, roughly about 1cm shorter to be precise. As with most foxes our grey freind here has a single bushy tail and as just stated, a grey body fur with a near-white muzzle and underbelly colouration. With the inclusion of his three locks of hair, and the bright blue eyes, the rest of Darken's physicality is uniform with most other foxes.
Apparel
He does not usually have any one particular outfit, and can usually be found in his casual clothes when out in public. However, should he need to attend a function or special event, Darken, simply for the sake of convenience, chooses to adorn his Lab-wear. His labwear consists of: A White Lab-Coat, almost always left open and unbuttoned, accompanied by Sand-coloured ankle-length trousers. The purpose of the labwear is supposed to be to prevent harmful liquids or materials making contact with or staining his fur, but the manner in which Darken wears them renders it mostly Aesthetic. There is of course, his GUN uniform, which will find its way very quickly onto the grey fox whenever the threat of danger looms. Or simply whenever he gets called out somewhere by work.

Powers
Darken was given a sort of lycanthropy, not any sort of moon-related lycanite that you may be familiar with, but as a parallel it serves its purpose. The grey fox has the ability to change form into an anger-fuelled version of himself. This Power can't necessarily be activated at will, but rather when his body gets sufficiently damaged or he becomes enraged. Things that change during this transformation are his height, strength and durability. Unfortunately his mental capablities are greatly reduced will transformed as well. His height roughly triples to be that of 248cm, weighing 326kg. At this height and weight Darken's body is able to deliver a punch at 21m/s and with a newton force of 10414 Netwons. Enough to cause severe physical trauma or death to the average human should he make contact. This is also enough force to, when applied over the surface area of his fist, break through 1.5cm of steel or 9cm of concrete. However this does not make him invulnerable. Darken's lycan form is able to be forced to retreat and for the foxes original state to return if he: Is tranquilized, Killed, or the effects of his anger dissapear. The mere transformation does also have negative side effects to the fox's body, as when he returns he will have deep wounds as a result of the stretching and expanding of the muscles.
Equipment
- Darken is, as per government standard, provided with a GUN uniform. The uniform has a kevlar-ceramic ballistic vest, offering the wearer decent protection from small arms and some armour peircing rounds. The fox has modified his own personal outfitting with rheologic solids to protect himself from higher caliber rounds over a greater portion of the vest. This also makes his vest slightly lighter than most. His outfitting is also equipped with several more pockets for easier access and more storage space for his arsenal.
- While not a phenominal scientific breakthrough, Darken is equipped with a two-way radio earpiece communicator. It can be tuned to broadcast on any frequency and is equipped with an encrypter/decrypter for 3 seperate frequencies that he has established broadcast channels on.
- As per standard fitting, Darken is allowed his own personal sidearm, the Heckler & Koch USP, the standard commission GUN sidearm, whereas the fox has gone with the Elite for the heightened accuracy and higher caliber. His outfitting also allows him to be equipped on-field with the Heckler & Koch MP5SF, and the SIG SG 553, both standard GUN weapons. While legally Darken is only allowed to have his sidearm in his residence, he does keep the MP5 at home, choosing to leave the much larger and noticeable SG 553 in the onsite armoury.
- For each of his commissioned weapons, Darken made sure to outfit them each with a muzzle supressor, Front and rear sights (where appropriate), quick release magazines, and night sights. Additionally, the fox has devised several customised rounds for each weapon respectively, and will often carry a spare magazine of each during any given mission.
- Darken has constructed a series of EMRP (Electromagnetic Radiation pulse) grenades capable of scrambling electronic units, and while they are extremly capable of traveling through most materials, they are also indescriminate. Unfortunately the grenade cannot be lobbed by hand far enough to mitigate the destruction of the users own electronics.
- As required by GUN regulations, Darken's uniform includes steel plated knee-high boots and steel plated gloves, both of which the fox has augmented with the same rheologic solids as his vest to provide additional AP protection.
Backstory
Darken was born into a fairly 'normal' family, a single child to two parents. He achieved a secondary and tertiary education, specialising in Mechanical Engineering and programming, opening a small tool shop during his studies to sell his own inventions and useful items of his own creations to pay for his education. During this time he rarely spoke to his parents, although Darken had never intended to cut himself off from them. Once the fox had finished his university course and was able to focus full time on his ambitions, he opened up commissions, where he'd work on projects inside his own tool shop to finally start paying off the mortgage on the building space..
It was only when he hastily accepted a fairly suspicious commission that Darken's life turned upside down. A large series of events took place that led to fox being endowed with a Lycanite transformation, the encountering of Kitty the Cat and Alia Stevenson (At the time known as Agent 446), the intanglement with a Ascensionism Extemist and the rage of an interdimensional being destroying a city. Following this highly illegal and unfortunate series of events, the Fox was given the choice to be put down or join GUN. Clearly choosing the latter..
So far the foxes servitude in GUN has been unpleasant, but certainly not much worse than the few months prior to his unorthadox conscription. Darken is now in charge of a hush-hush division of the GUN research sanction, which has its priviledges, although is forced to facade as a simply field researcher. And now he moves about as work calls him.
Temporary custodian/caretaker of. Co-founder of OMR Foundation. Originally meeting during an incredibly invasive introduction, the two of them formed a very rocky and secretive interaction with one another, at least until she escaped her previous captivity seeking asylum under Darken's protection. Rather clingy and a bit sporadic, Alia currently depends on Darken's income to support her own living and is not really of the opinion that needs to change any time soon. Darken is fine with that, he doesn't have any other dependants under his roof anyway. Alia has a mixed infatuated set of emotions towards the grey fox, and ensures he knows it. Darken, however, does not share the same feelings.
Ex-Housemate. Co-founder of OMR Foundation. Originally meeting under very suspicous circumstances, it was through equally suspicious and unfortunate means that the two of them became involved with one another in an escape from the civilisation of Glasby. Fellow inventor and hardy companion, Kitty has no other name, at least known to him, and does not care for such formalities. She once ran an independant mechanic shop before calling on Darken for a special project. She is not an emotionally supportive, nor socially adept individual, preferring to know without sharing. There can occasionally be conflict between the two of them but on most occasions Darken and Kitty can cooperate.
Ex-housemate. Crush. Originally meeting completely by chance, having stumbled across her shrine due to some actions of Alia, Breeze is a fox with a problematic lineage, being born to a creature from a different dimension, she had been gifted with immense power over the field of time. Unfortunately another sideffect of her lineage is the decay of her own metaphysical existance, brought about by the distance from her ancestral dimension. To preventer her decay she entered a stasis, and so it was that stasis that Darken interrupted. With her location compromised Breeze chose to join the grey fox's plight, or at least until the matter was resolved. They did end up solving the issue, mere moments before her complete dissapearance and requiring Breeze to lock herself back into a more permanent stasis. Unfortunately that left the grey boi with some serious blues, having developed a romantic interest for her during their time together.
Best friend. Brother in arms. Originally meeting under unfortunate circumstances, Darken owes Shrike a life dept, or at least, he beleives he does. Shrike, with the help of his friend Rex, rescued Darken and a group of soldiers from a failed GUN operation in Shamar. Later, during that same year Darken helped take part in the location and rescue of Shrike from the hands of Vanik, a psionic lunatic. The two parted ways and don't speak often, but to the fox there is an insperable link between them, and if ever his green friend is in need, he'll try his best.
