The world around her was empty. She realised that she might be alone for the rest of her life. Then she laughed. No, that was a ridiculous idea. There couldn’t be just her in the world. Sure, she was alone now. No parents, no siblings in sight. No pride to belong to. Everyone she’d ever known was no more. She was lucky to be alive. Right. She needed to focus on the positive and a positive thing happened. She met Akumu. The meeting wasn’t particularly pleasant at first, but she stalked the lioness until she eventually accepted her. Aku seemed rough, but Ejsza could see the soft side of her from the first moment they met. Aku became her hero. She saved her from the loneliness and possibly death and accepted her into her pride. She was taken in by Turu, a kind lion and his sister Moe and she could not have asked for better parents.

As she grew up her eyes were still on her hero and she wanted to be just like her. She followed her, trained like her and did all she could to impress her and show her gratitude through her actions.

Ejsza’s character is quite different to Aku’s so in the end her story went a different direction. She was always a cheerful and helpful lioness and her adoptive parents only enhanced those traits. Instead of becoming a warrior like Aku, she ended up becoming a foster parent for all cubs lost and alone and in need of a loving home.
