Nanette 1.0

Growing up in the mining town of Mossley, Nanette was the town sweetheart and the most eventful part of her day was the hour that all the town boys would rush to the bar to flirt and woo her. Two friends in particular fancied her, Darren Miles Maxwell and Merit Kroft. She always liked Darren Miles Maxwell and married him, but she grieved when Merit left the town without a word before the wedding.

A year and a half after her marriage to Darren Miles Maxwell, a flamboyant drow bard showed up in her tavern one night and stayed for a while. He called himself Aeris and ordered the fanciest bourbon on the shelves. Nanette thought nothing of it until a devastating werewolf attack from the Shadowfell happened the same night Aeris disappeared from the town. Nanette's six month old daughter Debbie was bitten in the attack and is now cursed with lycanthropy.

The morning after the attack, Nanette's curiousity got the better of her and she happened to touch a strange, purple glass-like shard left at ground zero from the attack. The glass shard was enchanted and unpredictable. Nanette was infused with sorcerous magic from the Shadowfell, unfortunately snuffing out her own life force at the same time.

Now Nanette connects the attack on her home with Aeris' arrival. If she wants to track Aeris down, she needs to travel to the city of Blackfall, the only clue of his past she was able to squeeze out of him during his time in her tavern. She plans to confront Aeris about her new sorcerous magic, and demand he fix her daughter's lycanthropy. She also plans to find her friend Merit and inform him of the tragedy that befell Mossley.

Nanette 2.0

Nanette and her husband Darren stumbled hastily out of the woods into Roachwood three years ago. They were reluctant to speak about their past and carried few belongings with them, which raised suspicion from every wary resident in town. Nanette took a job at a local tavern in exchange for room and board, and Darren immediately got to work building a sturdy house for the two of them. Despite Roachwood's hesitance to welcome them at first, Nanette and Darren have proven themselves loyal and capable workers. Now Nanette and Darren live in their cozy house in the forest just outside of town. Nanette gave birth to a little girl - Debbie - who is now two years old. Nanette continues to bartend in Roachwood and is chatty with the locals. She has opened up about her past as a Mossley resident - a town that has since been wiped from the map. The locals have noticed Nanette has a superstitious streak, and she is never seen out during the full moon.

Nanette is intrigued by the newly-reestablished guild hall. She hopes adventurers will keep monsters at bay and the woods safe. Nanette seems eager to connect with the guild, and wonders if she may be able to join their ranks, too.
