✦ About

An up-and-coming prolific painter who got involved with the Apollonian Society after gaining his Sight, drawing inspiration from the supernatural as well as doing illustrations on the Society's behalf.

An english painter with irish roots. Morgan's a "romantic" in the 19th-century meaning of the word. He's melodramatic and sentimental, often prone to nostalgia with a tendency to act on his whims. Nonetheless, despite his naturally sanguine temperament Morgans' background in fine art has given the man a contemplative edge along with a drive to seek out sublime experiences.

Morgans' paternal lineage had been native to Beara, until his grandparents came to England in the early 19th century in search of a better life. He studied art in Heatherleys' Academy, wherein he was regarded as "nothing more than average". Morgan had trouble securing commissions after graduation, eventually turning his eyes towards the Emerald Isles, hoping to find inspiration from the moors and rolling hills of his ancestral home. Clearly something clicked on the trip, as Morgan returned a changed man, rapidly becoming the talk of the town with his lovingly rendered soulful oil paintings.

At first glance his main drives appear to be money, inspiration and quenching his artistic drive, as such Morgan's drawn to the beauty and mysticism of many vaesen (supernatural creatures) - even the horrible ones exude power and splendor, akin to that of a stormy sea.

As an up-and-coming artist, Morgan is well-connected in the London social scene. He is a charming and charismatic individual who is well-liked by many, despite his modest heritage and reputation for being unpredictable. Morgan's unquestionable talent and possession of The Sight have earned him a place in the Apollonian Society, wherein he does commissioned work, as well as accompanying members on field missions in order to see his "subjects" first-hand.

✦ Appearance

Morgan possesses a notably bright tuft of ginger hair, along with skin that explodes into freckles upon contact to sunlight. He's tall and on the lanky side, with handsome features, intense dark eyes and a small slightly upturned nose. Fashion-wise Morgan leans towards clothes that look presentable but not overly eyecatching, having particular fondness for a navy-blue coat and top hat.

Though he doesn't hide his Irish heritage and could definitely look the part the man's mannerisms, diction and vocabulary mark him off as being clearly raised in London.

✦ Dark Secret

Caught the eye of the fey muse Leanan Sidhe and became her lover. Morgan doesn't consider her seduction of him particularily traumatic, yet it is this extended brush with the supernatural that lent him The Sight, aka. the ability to see supernatural creatures. It is possible that there's more to the Leanan Sidhe than meets the eye and he might've glimpsed at her real appearance through the glamor upon making the pact, but has suppressed it either for the sake of his own sanity or as result of enthrallment.

The Leanan Sidhe gives him manic drive and a spark of inspiration that elevates him above most other artists, but will eventually cause Morgan to go mad and wither away, as the lovers of a Leanan Sidhe are said to live lives that are brief yet highly inspired. Morgan's health and well-being is gradually deteriorating as he becomes increasingly bound to the fairy. He experiences manic episodes wherein he'll paint for days with little food or sleep, followed by a crash of listlessness. He's taken to using opium to combat insomnia. Both his sketch book and studio are full of images in the likeness of his fairy lover, who pays him visits at night.

✦ Trivia
● Morgan might be a little bi, but doesn't admit it even to himself. His so far first and only crush on a man just so happened to have suffered from possession by an incubus, so for now Morgan assumes that his attraction towards him is merely a holdover of the incubus's aura of allure.
● Morgan suffers from gradually deepening vision-problems after being briefly touched by a demon of blindness during a Society mission.
● He doesn't know what his fairy lover is really called, instead employing various pet names. If anyone questioned who the woman he keeps sketching is, then he'd probably claim her to be a model by the name of "Rose", since he's been in the Society long enough to understand that they wouldn't look kindly to a relationship between a fey and a human.
● Employs a maid by the name of Holly Fischer.
● Drifted apart from all his pre-fame friends. There’s only so much time in a day to spend on keeping in contact when you’re either busy with Society social functions, normie social functions, painting or entertaining your muse.
● The Society first became aware of Morgan possessing The Sight when a member noticed that some of his exhibited paintings contained uncannily accurate fairies mingling in the backgrounds.
✦ Relationships
The Leannan Sidhe Morgans' lover and the center of his world. His muse, his heart, his purpose. An object of unending adoration who can do no wrong and is never going to hurt him.
Anthony One of Morgans' models. Though Anthony doesn't remember it he'd been possessed by an incubus, with Morgan shooting him in self-defense during the exorcism. Morgan proceeded to anonymously pay for Anthony's medical bills and offered him a job as a model once he recovered, to alleviate his guilt and keep an eye on the man.
Dr. Thomas Rhyner A friend and a member of the Society. The two visit each-other for tea regularily, discussing a certain troublesome Society member or sharing general support and grievances. Morgan thinks Dr. Rhyner to be an extremely emotional man, but a good conversationalist and a useful contact for getting a leg up in society.
