Kiyoshi tends to be rather quiet around people. Not much for conversation and he honestly has little desire to make friends, too concerned with all the responsibilities in his life to take the time to relax and get to know people. Not to mention he has trust issues and just won't open up enough to let anyone close. When he does speak, he will either be rather polite or a complete smartass, it just depends on who he's talking to. He can have quite a temper, something he's working on since he doesn't want to be like his father. But, he is also a very caring individual. The type to help old ladies cross the stree and rescue cats from trees, even if there is no personal gain to do so.

Description

Tall at 6’3”, Kiyoshi has a lean build with a sunkissed tan. His hair is shoulder length, black, layered and kind of shaggy looking (and usually in his face). He has bright violet eyes with dark lashes. He tends to have dark circles under his eyes as he doesn't get much sleep (working multiple jobs, going to school, and taking care of a 10 year old will do that do you). Kiyoshi has a various scars on his body from beatings he received from his father. Occasionally, he is slightly underweight, due to skipping meals to make sure that his brother has enough to eat when they struggle to afford food.

Wears casual, modern clothes, typically tank tops, t-shirts, jeans, and boots or sneakers, prefers darker colors. Always wears a silver locket engraved with sakura, inside a picture of he, his mother, and brother.

Background

Kiyoshi's mother passed away from illness when he was 10 (his brother 2), her death caused his father to drink and turn abusive, running off when Kiyoshi was 14. He has been taking care of his brother on his own, doing random jobs and gambling to earn money, all while trying to finish school. There is a rumor going around that he prostitutes himself for money, he just shrugs it off. His father reappears, on occasion, to try and “be a family again.” In the end, he and Kiyoshi always end up fighting, Yukio running off with that month’s bills money.

During the four years between his mother's death and his father's leaving, he would receive beatings from his father for his smart mouth and because he would protect Yuki from him (typically with a belt, but anything was fair game). When Yukio got tired of hitting him, and Kiyoshi would still talk back, he would be locked in a closet for hours (usually because his father forgot he put him in there because he was so drunk). Due to this, Kiyoshi has an aversion to dark and cramped places, so much so that sometimes he has panic attacks if he is in such a situation for too long.
