One of the leaders of the former rebellion of BlizzardClan, Lambsong has now returned to faer sole duties being that of a Permanent Monarch. Fae is a strange cat with bizarre manners of speech speaking of birds and beasts alike, those closest being called by the name of a specific bird while cats in general are called "Little Bird" and the kits that she cares for "Fledglings". Fae is a rather unexpressive molly only seeming to have two facial expressions and little shift in tone no matter who or what fae is speaking about.

history

TW: Child / Sibling Abuse (Emotional, Physical), Brief Gore Mention

kithood

Lambkit was the second-born child of two well-respected BlizzardClan warriors, Wildfire and Ghostecho and the younger sister to the charming and well-liked Houndtongue. Fae knew nothing but love from faer parents, they doted on faer every chance they got, fostering all faer intests and encouraged faer to think for faerself. Wildfire in particular was adamant that she wanted faer to blaze faer own path, despite Lambkit being born much calmer and with a similar disposition to faer father, Wildfire knew that her kid had a spark. An assumption that Wildfire was playfully teased over at the time, but as later moons of Lamb's would show, Wildfire was more right than she could have imagined when it came to her kitten.

Despite the love faer parents had for faer, the feelings weren't shared by all... That is to say, Houndtongue loathed having a younger sister, he loathed sharing the attention that was once given to him with someone else despite being a fully grown warrior at this point. Houndtongue would attempt to be cruel to his sister when their parents weren't around however the other monarchs always seemed to scold him for going to far with what they thought was sibling banter at the time, preventing him from acting on his full anger. His parents too often chewed him out for his behavior, yet that wouldn't last forever...

apprenticeship

Lambpaw would soon be left alone with Houndtongue, as faer parents turned up poisoned, their prey tainted and with no clear culprit. Filled with grief and so young, Lambpaw leaned on Houndtongue as well as her mentor, Snowscape, for support in those times. However Houndtongue's change of heart towards his sister was false, in fact he was the one who poisoned their parents' prey all in attempt to punish Lambpaw for ruining his life with the arrival of her own, punishing his parents as well for supposedly "abandoning him" for "such a lesser cat". With silky words Houndtongue told cats he was bonding with his sister, training with her as they were the only family they had left at this point, however what was once normal outtings turned violent and abusive. Lambpaw became quiet, keeping silent to protect faerself due to Houndtongue's threats even when one of their "sessions" resulted in faer losing faer eye, the twisted gnarled scar passed off as something else that Lambsong cannot even remember. Faer speach got stranger as the moons progressed, slowly, but surely did faer expressions lessen too. Idly in later moons fae would wonder why it seemed that no one noticed how fae was acting...

warriorhood

No matter, fae would take things into faer own paws on faer 25th moon, tired of the abuse and outting, fully transformed into the molly known today, Lambsong went along with faer brother one final time, yet only one of them would return, without Houndtongue in sight and a tale woven with words that'd make most cats' heads spin, cats were left to wonder what became of Houndtongue and what happened on that fateful day, yet no one equally seemed to care about Houndtongue's disappearance as well, he had soured most of his relationships and it was not hard to forget him quickly. With faer brother gone, fae decided fae had enough of the life of a warrior and soon after was made into one of the permanent monarchs of the clan.

Yet, Houndtongue, even if he was no longer on everyone's minds seemed to set something off in Lambsong and the cats around faer. There was a change in how fae viewed BlizzardClan and how those in charge viewed faer. While fae excelled as faer position as a monarch, several litters being entrusted under faer care over the moons, it seemed Dovemoon didn't trust faer, not that it made sense as to why, Dovemoon was never much of a fan of faer brother making it unlikely to be the source of his distrust and off-behavior around faer. Like faer own mother, fae attempted to teach the kits under faer care to think for themselves and not trust everything even if it came from the leader's mouth, passive lessons from mother to daughter perhaps taken as a challenge... Yet fae was far from the only one to teach similar things to kittens. It seemed that it was just that Dovemoon had selected his enemy and Lambsong decided so be it. Moons before faer mentor, Snowscape, had been goaded into a foolhardy attempt to strike against BlizzardClan by attacking the deputy Starlingfall and Lambsong was determined that faer attempt would be better since Dovemoon craved an enemy so badly.

Passive at first the Lambsong only really began to fan the flames to melt the Frigid Hearted Moon once he decided to rope faer own children into this. Orphaned sortly after birth, Lambsong's first offical litter fae adopted came in the form of Milk and Slush, poor Yewhoney an unfortunate victim to a spider that had managed to get into the nursery. Lambsong adored the two kits with everything, faer Loon and faer Kinglet. Yet much like faer own brother, Dovemoon sought to punish faer through the life of another and that is what he did, twisting and manipulating Slush into a hound of his own. Fae always will wonder if him naming her "pup" was also a jab at faer personally. Despite faer attempts it seemed that Slushpup was always out of reach, pulling was from faer and her brother, Milkroot, who only seemed to spiral further with his brother's behavior... Perhaps the one light being how from seperated youths fae began to grow close with Rainsoot, faer Woodpecker. Fae saw Rainsoot when other cats seemed to look away and fae just knew there was still a cat there that could be pulled out of the ashes, that could thrive and see a dawn of a better clan. A purpose that was birthed with the pressence of all the kits fae held dear only doubled as fae looked upon all the cats that needed a new BlizzardClan.

Secretly a choice was made, one that Lambsong knew would have to be made, time spent preparing faerself for what was to come, this not being in reference to faer growing rebellion. At this time, fae grew close to Starlingfall as well moons spent raising his kits at his side when the nursery was empty due to laws made and no mate to support him resulting in the two becoming surprising friends and to faer a sign that everything was coming to an end, faer choice cemented now...

As much as fae would have loved to be wrong, to not have to make the choice, fae was correct, perhaps more correct than fae wanted to be. In the heat of the rebellion's battle, faer own Kinglet, Slushpup, attacked her with intent to kill. Fae could have handled it faerself, but Milkroot desperate for his brother not to do this, not to hurt their mother and to see what Dovemoon was doing intervined only for Slushpup to kill him for it. Lambsong was quick to retaliate, calling Slushpup by his name rather than Kinglet as fae had done his whole life and with a well-aimed bite fae tore away Slushpup's throat and after one final cry to Dovemoon, warbled and blood filled, he too was gone, Lambsong pained in their blood.

Lambsong does not know how to phrase how the next moments felt, just as soon as faer children's bodies fell, faer was grasping Dovemoon's tongue in faer claws, Lambsong was carving faer claws into the faces of the cats who obeyed him and yet live, apologies and begging hit faer ears. It was all something, all the continuation of what fae started and would end. Once the chaos settled, for the moon following the rebellion while cats healed from wounds mental and physical, Lambsong took the helm of BlizzardClan as the temporary New Moon until fae called upon the clan to vote for their new leader and deputy. Fae has not spoken about the rebellion nor intends to as fae now returns to faer duties as a monarch once again. Every moment before was worth it, fae would not change a thing. Fae gave them a new BlizzardClan just as fae promised, there is nothing more to say even if other cats believe differently.

trivia

Design Notes
  • Aside from her hair (and the eye it covers) her design is symmetrical
  • Lambsong is a rather fluffy cat with a compact body, do not draw her skinny, she's large!
  • The white patch on her back is wing-shaped.
  • Lambsong's eyes must be half-lidded and she can only smile or have a neutral expression, she is not that emotive.
  • Lambsong's hair/fringe must always be covering her right (viewer left) eye.
trivia
  • Lambsong's name yet her constant talk of birds comes from the fact that birds and sheep both have "flock" as a name for a group of them, yet are thematically opposites when it comes to the expression of freedom.
  • Lambsong will call a cat by their name if they don't want a nickname, her nicknames are always tied to a bird she believes symbolizes them and their potential.
  • For Lambsong cats are only not referred to as birds if they are viewed as evil, once that is hit she tends to refer to them as wolves, hounds, dogs or other canines.
  • As for Lambsong herself, she does not see herself as a bird, instead she views herself as the only "sheep" in her eyes, seeing herself as destroyed by her brother's actions stating that he "ripped away her wings" seemingly denying that she will ever be free, controdicting her seeming to have made peace and moved past what happened to her..
  • When it comes to cats fae does not like, fae tends to pretend they do not exist at all unless fae has to.
  • "Fledgling" is not a term fae uses exclusively for cats fae considers faer own, instead it is just for all kits fae has raised as a monarch.
