As a beanling
The wish that Mum came from was made in very unique circumstances. During a visit to Cj's mother's grave, in which Sugar managed to channel the woman's spirit in order to allow her to finally move on, his mother made a wish to be able to be a part of her son's life as he moved forward. After their goodbye, as Cj was taking some flowers to bring home at his mother's request, Charum suddenly sensed that there was a new beanling. Once she'd been discovered, Sugar and Cj agreed to bring her home with them to their cabin. Mum spent the majority of her time as a beanling outside of Prism Vale; instead, she stayed at the cabin, mostly learning from and spending time with Cj since Sugar had been having trouble connecting too consistently at the time.
Eventually Cane returned to the cabin as well, with Charum coming along with him. The the two beanlings became fast friends, with Charum telling Mum all sorts of stories about his adventures with Cane and throughout Prism Vale. Eventually Charum brought Mum to visit Prism Vale, and took her exploring around the islands. He became rather protective of her during this time. Their trip was rather short, though, and the two returned to their wishers not long after.
Blooming
Just a few days after their return happened to be Mother's Day. On that particular day, Cj (with help from Cane and Sugar) set out to create a memorial for his mother, now that he'd finally achieved some semblence of stability in his life and could do so. Throughout the day he chatted with Cane, with them both swapping stories of the women who helped raise them. To Mum's surprise, she ended up blooming in the middle of one of the conversations! Needless to say, Charum was insanely jealous about this development.
In Prism Vale
All grown, Mum returned to Prism Vale feeling a little more confident about herself and her place there. She was naturally drawn to Jesen island, and set up a small home that she could garden at, which soon led to her having produce to go sell and trade at the nearby farmer's market. There she met Dulcette, and also was introduced by Nomi to Jericho and Prism, and found out that Jericho and herself were connected by their wisher's family ties. Overall, Mum settled in as part of Prism Vale very quickly; her nature and sociability tended to endear her to most of the residents of Jesen island. With her roles at the market, and later as a helper at Helia's tavern, there are few residents on the island who don't at least know of her, if not knowing her personality.
Mum often goes with Nomi and Charum to visit the cabin that their wishers live at, and gets very excited to tell Cj all about the different plants she's growing and some of the stories she's learned of. Often when she visits the two will spend most of the day tending to Cj's garden and spending time together. From time to time she'll gather seeds from some of what he has, since she's found that they seem to magically re-size themselves if she brings them with her to Prism Vale in order to be more flowerling-sized than they might be otherwise.
