• Summary

  Head of security, manager and owner of Arcfall, a hitman/bodyguard agency based in the UK. Keeps his employees strictly segregated, and neither side knows that the other exists.

• Personality

  High-energy: runs fast, crashes hard. Prefers to carry out much of the work himself due to his low interpersonal patience, and has a reputation for being a demanding boss. Despite this, responsible for his employees and would never sell them out; he would do drastic things to ensure their safety under his chain of command. Decisive to the point of being cutthroat: would hurt a child, unfortunately (would probably regret it later though).

• Role in the Story

  Harcourt is well aware of all of the major criminal players (Ilyich's triad, Fajkua's eyrie, Oscar's syndicate, Dexter's gang takeover and more) but keeps well out of their way, as he has no intention of getting his agency tangled up in organized crime. After discovering Arcfall's dual identities via greed infiltration, Ciarán briefly contemplated making use of its services for his plan to end the world; he ultimately decided against it, but kept the information for future blackmailing purposes. Jackdaw is one of Arcfall's most loyal employees.

• History

  Unknown, largely by his own design. He has at least three identities: as the academic-turned-businessman CEO of the Arcfall bodyguard agency, as the rough-talking, high-striving manager of a hitmen team, and a third as Arcfall's most prolific assassin with a notorious commitment to secrecy. As for which is closest to his true self ...who knows?

• Hobbies and Interests

  Constantly researching, reorganizing his schedules, double-checking his client files etc due to his horror of wasted time. Up-to-date on current events and very well-read; can carry on a conversation with virtually any topic you can think of. He works out, but at heart he's really kind of a nerd.
