sergeant james buchanan “bucky” barnes is a WWII veteran, a former officer of the 107th, and a best friend of steve roger’s. he was captured and experimented on by hydra, giving him superhuman abilities and a metal arm, after losing it due to a devastating fall during a former mission. he was soon put under ice and brought out some time later, being brainwashed and sent on assassination missions. he was given the name the winter soldier, and followed hydras orders. steve was able to help him regain his memories, and are now trying to live a peaceful and normal life.
