Calvin

Galcatty

Profile

The oldest of Heracles and Galine's demigod triplets. His younger sisters are Sammy and Wendy. And his wifey is Phoebe!

Calvin is the divine spirit of intuition!

He is swole (aka he has super strength, no matter what form he takes, it's not something he can turn off so he has to be pretty careful)

Calvin is a divine spirit, and the son of Galine, but unlike angels he's not really directly subservient to any particular god. He'll defer to and work with his own mother mostly, bur beyond that Calvin is largely left to his own devices. Calvin spends his time doing who knows what really, he keeps to himself and doesn't tell even those he's closest to much of anything. If it weren't for the telepathic link he has with his sisters it would be nigh on impossible to get a hold of him.

Calvin spends his time, well, snooping - for lack of a better word - or I guess he'd much rather call it "gathering intel". For what? Well even he's not entirely sure. Calvin doesn't have a "job" but he has a kind of self imposed duty to "keep an eye out" so to speak. As the spirit of intuition Calvin always knows the right things to say to get people to talk and to suss out intentions and plans hiding just below the surface.

To most other people Calvin's movements look very haphazard and trivial - just hanging out and making friends with people - (and tbh to a certain degree it is) but Calvin pays attention to and takes note of everything. Most of it never comes to anything, but Calvin finds it useful to know people.

On the surface many would say of the triplets Calvin takes after his mother the least, and while he's no angel of Galine and therefore doesn't have any programmed in biases to Galine's aspects, he still takes after her. He takes after her the most in her habit of gathering random knowledge, (she is the goddess of knowledge in addition to order, harmony, and unity) you could probably make the case for him doing it even more than her. Though Calvin loves learning about people the most. He likes learning every little esoteric and weird thing he can too though.

When it comes down to it Calvin isn't the most genuine person, though it can be difficult for that to come across to people. Calvin acts very genuine, at least when it serves him, but if something conflicts with his priorities he drops that fast. As a default Calvin tends to seem pretty easy going, he can be pretty suave too, he's very good at shifting his presented personality to whatever the moment needs, but that's usually his default. Is that is actual personality? Well, hard to say.

Calvin is probably the most "himself" around his sisters. Underneath his easy going, uncaring exterior, Calvin cares very deeply for his sisters and will fiercely protect them. They are his number one priority.

Another cool thing about Calvin: his soul actually shifts slightly depending on the people around him. This is both a visual thing for people who can see stuff like that (namely: Diaphlyn (goddess of spirit, etc.) and Tourmaline (who has true sight)) and a thing that actually effects his personality and mannerisms. Think.... That short story The Belonging Kind. But maybe less terrifying. (Disclaimer I have not actually read that story myself but I watched a fairly detailed summary dsjgldkjs) Calvin adapts to every situation he's in, usually very smoothly. It's not usual to see him loose his cool.

He doesn't usually change his personality in front of angels, gods, or family and the like, -- that. whole.. circle of people. -- when he's like, "playing the role of the spirit of intuition". Honestly pretty much all of the divine people who know him/know of him have no idea what he gets up to on a daily basis, or just how good he can change roles, or like. You know, that whole deal. Galine's son and the spirit of intuition by day, world traveling shapeshifter who wants to know everyone by night. (More accurately the day/night would be flipped there but you get the idea)

Oh! Another thing about Calvin. He lowkey has this need for everyone to like him. He'll pretend not to be bothered if someone doesn't like him but he totally will be. He'll play it very cool but jump at the chance to do something to get them to like him. (That being said it does depend on the person a little bit, some people he doesn't think are worth his time depending on the situation. But as a rule he has a NEED for everyone to like him.)
