In Edemia when Phoebe and Calvin first met Phoebe was pretty young and frivolous and definitely would have let Calvin seduce her if he'd tried or wanted to at all, which he didn't. But TVL Calvin is a shallow tool and sees pretty sassy lady who thinks he's hot and ends up getting her pregnant and not sticking around to see it.

Either starting before or after Nike's born Phoebe goes "Oh heck no I'm not going to just let him do that." She was probably already learning some magic, I think she might already have elven/fae ancestry so she probably has a more innate ability for it. Starts studying how to bind a fae

And so for her grand plan of revenge she either seeks him out or he happens to come back around that way, possibly to see her, and through some mix of fairy magic (his or otherwise) she traps him in something like a contract. Basically with the end goal of forcing him to gain a work ethic and show up as a father. Which after a lot of unsuccessful pushback from Calvin starts to happen.

At first he sometimes hates Phoebe most of the time tries to attempt to manipulate her into letting him go. But over time he starts to fall in love with her fr beyond "I think you're hot". I imagine a moment where he ends up saving Nike from something and Phoebe in frantic mom mode very fervently thanks him, possibly kisses or hugs him in the heat of the moment, and Calvin has a O.O  "wow that felt really good and a lot better than my short lived flirting" moment

And then they get married and have Cleon too

and so TVL Calvin grows to be a little more like original selfless Edemia Calvin
