Notes
Kaida is fiery and passionate. She'll do anything to protect those she deems close to her, no matter the cost. Justice is something important to her. She can be extremely stubborn, especially when angry. While she can come off as short and unkind, she does truly care about others. Learning how to properly express her positive emotions is something she's always trying to work on, despite how awkward it may feel to do so.
If those she considers herself close to are in trouble, and have been injured in any way, her rage will become uncontrollable until she sees the threat is completely eradicated, although that can sometimes take a while. While blinded by rage, she becomes much stronger, but this can also harm her signifigantly as she blindly takes out the enemy.
Appearance
Kaida has long, dark red hair with short horns that poke through. She has light blue skin littered with small scars, and a long tail. Her clothes are well made, and although new, are already starting to show signs of wear. The only visible armor she wears is an agile atricium breastplate to allow for more mobility in battle. She primarily uses two oversized falchions that she dual wields in battle.
She is very strong and athletic from many years of working and having to survive alone. Battle is something familiar to her, and with her two falchions, she can annihilate any enemy in her path.
Background
Kaida was born to a fairly modest family in a small town within the country of Temari, and was the oldest of only two children. When Kaida was around 11 years of age, her parents suddenly vanished, leaving no indication of why they may have left or where they had gone. The task of raising Elora, only 5 years of age at this time, fell solely to Kaida. She throw everything she had into taking care of the younger child. Any small jobs that were available, she took, trying to raise enough money to feed, clothe, and house them both.
They managed to scrape by for a few months, but unfortunately, Elora fell ill, and passed away despite Kaida's best efforts to save her. Stricken with grief, and furious at the hand fate had dealt her, she left her hometown. There was nothing left for her their but bittersweet memories of a life she no longer led.
Years went by, and Kaida struggled. She had no plan for the future, and nothing left but what little she could carry on her back. She went from town to town in a search for work, for home, for friends. She would stay for a time, but ultimately move on to something else with a dissatisfaction that never seemed to abate. During her wandering she happened upon a traveling group of merchants, and having nothing else to do, decided to come along. It was while traveling with them that she discovered her talents in combat, battling monsters and fending off bandits. With every encounter, she grew stronger. It was said that despite her young and allegedly cute appearance, she could easily take down multiple armed men within seconds. She tried to learn all she could while with them, but ultimately decided that while their trade wasn’t for her, perhaps her services as a battle-hardened warrior would be.
Eventually she would find work as a royal guard for the dwarven princess Danae Rossil of Calandra, a task she took extremely seriously. She had finally found her calling. It was not without it’s difficulties, some completely unforeseen, but finally she found something she was good at and proud of doing. She felt she was closer to discovering her purpose in the world, and could begin to really live again.
