Personality
Kanathar is proud and cocky. He has a temper and is quick to anger and inflicting punishments for the slightest transgressions. He is loyal only to himself, save The Creator.
Description
Rather tall, at 6'5". Kanathar has a broad, muscular build, with a tanned complexion, and wavy, shoulder length silver hair that is normally brushed back and has brunet tips. He has a beard, with no moustach, the same color as his hair. His eyes are a silver with a gold ring in the center. He has longer, rounded ears that are furred.
He typically wears tunics, sometimes with a shirt under them (or sometimes just a shirt) and breeches, with tall leather boots. A lot of his clothes have fur trims or linings. He is not picky on colors, though likes browns, reds, and golds.
His animal form is that of an exceptionally large lion.
Background
Kanathar is the god of the plains, associated with war and pride. He makes his home in the Bahati Plains, which borders the Raskogr Forest to the south.
He is prideful and boastful, ruthless and cruel. It is rare that he is genuninely friendly, usually only using it as a facade to get what he wants. Kanathar has not always been this way, though. There was a time when he could be a kind and caring person who could put others before himself. Now, it is as if he doesn't know how. Centuries spent in The Creator's thrall has twisted the god's soul into something dark, something that he would not recognize as himself if he realized.
The god has no one he would consider a "true" friend. People he tolerates and gets along with decently enough, but no one he fully trusts. Not even The Creator, though he is loyal to them and they are lovers (in a very non-romantic sense). Once upon a time, Kanathar and Darach, the previous forest god, were close. They were the best of friends and the closest of lovers, even with how The Creator corrupted them they were always beyond loyal to each other. When Darach was killed by his son, Nirav, the plains god was devastated. He had lost his dearest friend, the love of his life, and he hated Nirav for it. It is due to this that he says and does hurtful things to Nirav and his younger brother, Sylva. If given the chance, he would make them suffer as he had. The only thing that keeps him from trying is Marwolaeth, the god of death and a close friend of Nirav's.
While Kanathar sees humans a little more than cattle, he plays nice with the ones that live near his home and worship him. Only because he finds they make good servants. And he enjoys being fawned over.
