Trivia
  • The purple ribbons on their side can be made into sharp halos.
  • If Roquiel ever went back to the afterlife realm they'd probably kick god in the face.
  • Roquiel's main drive is hunger so they prioritize being a "guardian angel" to others first, but Roquiel still finds that thrill in tormenting others. Spending centuries doing the same boring thing drove them to search for more means of entertainment.
  • Would Roquiel say they miss the afterlife realm? Probably not. Though the hunger can get very bothersome and eating body parts isn't exactly very... clean for someone of their rank and position but the freedom to do whatever they want is worth it.
  • Roquiel prefers eyeballs with vibrant irises as they have more flavor to them.
  • They usually appear to others as a shadow, hallucination, or in a dream. Roquiel only appears in person to those who they deem worthy to be eaten. As such, Roquiel has no interest in those with a positive outlook in life as they can't get to them as easily as those in despair.
  • They used to have a soul and was once kind and compassionate, but having to kill people over and over (and with people having no problem with it too) lead to them believing life does not matter.
  • Name origin- St. Roque
  • Motifs: Fallen angels, flesh, eyeballs, biblical themes

Strict . Cruel . Deceitful

"What's up everyone, how's it going? Any luck finding a way to destroy me once and for all yet?"

PINTEREST BOARDS

As a herald of hope, Roquiel strives to see the world through the eyes of mortals. They are a guardian of the poor, a guiding light of the lost, and a friend of anyone who needs the embrace of her loving arms, but above all, he is a great deceiver.

Awakened to their sadistic desires, Roquiel feasts on flesh from the weak, seasoned to perfection after crushing their hopes over and over. An acquired taste she discovered out of curiosity from their time as Judgement’s executioner. The screams of his victims never reach his cold heart, as the kindness they once had was but a curse placed upon them by the gods. No one knows Roquiel by name, yet her influence is a shadow looming over the islands of Nilangad. A vow of secrecy is Roquiel’s price for a better life, appearing to their victims in dreams or isolation, until the gluttonous angel craves for the fear in their eyes.

Story

[TW: violence]

Roquiel is a high-ranking angel executioner who was banished from the afterlife realm because the god found out that they've been toying with the bodies of those sent to be executed and that was heavily against protocol.

Boredom with their job led them to be banished, they got so bored having to watch people get executed with no problem over and over they wanted to amuse themself by trying new methods of pain to see more interesting reactions out of people. Sometimes they'd pluck out an eye, chop off a finger, cut locks of hair and store it all in their wings, as angel wings serve as a small pocket dimension where anything can be stored.

---

Roquiel’s division oversees those to be executed without pain, which means the ones sent there are those who willingly wish to move on. The people there are usually the ones who did little to no bad deeds while in the afterlife and only wish for a peaceful eternal death. Roquiel has always been the head executioner for these people and he does his job effortlessly.

As long periods of time have passed, Roquiel has started losing interest in his job. Days and days would pass by where they would do the same thing to people over and over, and most of the time the people in question would have no qualms about moving on. Roquiel wanted to stay with their job but also wanted something a little more… interesting.

First it started with something simple. Shaving people’s head. Making them strip down naked. Having them perform embarrassing acts and ordering them around to feel degraded. Roquiel wanted the people to feel a little shame before their deaths, even when the people didn’t want to. No one could defy Roquiel though, as they were the head executioner and all orders that go through him are to be followed.

Roquiel was amused by all this but it didn’t seem to be enough. The torture moved to becoming more physically painful. They would hurt them one by one, up to the point where the people just wanted to die immediately. This would go on for hours until they got bored and went on with killing them by slicing off their heads clean using a sharp halo.

This went on for years until Roquiel was caught in the act of torturing someone by a lower officer and reported to god. The god was furious with Roquiel’s actions, especially since they were one of the longest commanding officers whom the god trusted. As punishment, Roquiel was banished from the afterlife realm and was sent to the land of Nilangad. The god took away most of Roquiel’s powers and was left behind being able to feel thirst, hunger, and pain, all which officer angels appointed by god would not be able to normally feel in the afterlife.

Roquiel was furious at first, as she only wanted to find a way to entertain herself while doing their job. Thankfully, previous training meant Roquiel knew how to survive on their own. Their only problem though, was food. It seemed like along with the punishment of being banished, god also made it so whatever Roquiel ate would taste like ash and cardboard. Roquiel tried eating vegetables, fruits, cooked animal meat, anything they could get their hands on but to no avail.

Roquiel wandered around, looking for something, anything to eat that wouldn’t make them spit it out. Roquiel collapsed on the ground out of hunger and decided to go for their last resort—getting the body parts they’ve collected and stored in their wings. They took a finger, chomped on it, and was greatly surprised to find out that it did not taste like how their other food tasted like. It was the first time they have tasted something so similar to how they imagined it. Roquiel wasted no time taking out more and more parts from their stash and started consuming it all. The god left Roquiel on land to die a slow death of hunger and thirst but failed to notice the fact that Roquiel did more to the bodies than just torture.

With Roquiel’s newfound information of how they can survive, they decided to conjure up a plan. They would approach those isolated and in despair and appear to them in the guise of being a “guardian angel sent from the afterlife” to watch over them and keep them safe. With Roquiel’s angelic looks, people would often believe their story. Roquiel would bond with the victim for at least a month, and once their hunger starts to act up again, they would proceed with dismembering the body using their halo and eat parts easy to take out like the eyeballs (their favorite), fingers, and feet. The rest of the parts such as the legs, arms, and head they would store in their wings as an extra stash in case they could not find someone who they could prey upon.

This would usually go smoothly for Roquiel, since their victims are those who have little to no friends or family so no one would go looking for them. Others would only assume they would pass away because of suicide, despite there being no body to be found.

Relationships
Dioe | subject of torment

"Dioe certainly is an interesting case. I'd like a taste of that eye they're trying so hard to hide from others."

Roquiel appears towards Dioe as a hallucination and chants "Your eye. Your eye. I could eat it for you if you'd like". This gets Dioe exasperated, temporarily dispelling them with a spell and shouting "Begone, angel!" while Roquiel laughs and disappears. This happens very frequently as Roquiel can never truly disappear. Dioe is currently one of their favorite people to torment.

Celeuxe Reivine | subject of torment

"My, Celeuxe is so easy to aggravate. All it takes is a little jab at their weak and useless body."

Roquiel appears towards Celeuxe in their dreams (or nightmares), often chanting "Defect! Defect! You don't deserve to be alive! Weakling! Disgrace!" in a sing-song tone while Celeuxe desperately tries to wake herself up. Celeuxe is currently one of Roquiel’s favorite people to torment.
