Character

History

August is currently acting as a guard for the Duchess of Avamore and dislikes having to run all over the capital to find her in order to make her do her work. Living in the northern most city of the Besarian Empire, he adorns another uniform to help him endure the cold, which further adds to his resilience to freezing temperatures due to mutations in his clan that allowed them to survive in such a landscape in the first place. Due to him being a different race, he has faced significant racism, though that was to a lesser extent once he assumed his position due to the harsh conditions one must face in the north.

Childhood

In addition to his clan being up in the north, he holds the usual characteristics of white hair and green eyes of the clan, unlike the others who had spread across the empire, who have adapted to warmer climates and thus taking warmer tones in both skin colour and eye colour.

August's relationship with his clan is strained due to the fact that his biological father, the Chief, had taken Augustus in when he was born but disregarded his mother and searched for a new wife. Because of this, Augustus never formed a strong enough bond with his father and left to become a knight at the young age of 12. The entire clan was against this, but because he left so suddenly during the night and had cut all forms of communication, they were unable to persuade him to stay. His father deeply regretted his decision of leaving Augustus aside for the first decade of his life, especially after getting a new son with his new wife. The news about August also caused more troubles for his father, as August was a rare mutation that happens within the Pravhi race that contained both reproductive organs; his father was planning to wed him to a family down in the south but was forced to cancel those plans on August's departure. In the times between leaving and visiting the clan, August only went home once, to complete his Age of Ceremony, at the age of 20.

Knighthood

Found by a Class 3 Royal Knight on his personal voyage around the province of Avamore, he came across August at a young age, learning of his distaste in his current family situation and urgent want to leave the clan. Understanding his situation, the knight offered his hand to train him, partly due to the fact that he felt that August had more in life to do and the other part where August was surprisingly good at holding a sword for being so young. The knight was fooling around at that point, letting August touch and hold his sword as a way to appease the child's interest.

Upon hearing the knight's offer to train him, August jumped on the opportunity immediately. He had been interested in being of some sort of use, aside from bridal material, and quietly packed his things in the dead of the night, leaving with the older man to learn to be someone else others could depend on. During his travels and training, August learned the brutality of wanting to become a ranking officer to an official Royal Knight. When he received his first designation as a Class 1 Royal Knight, he was ecstatic. Given his background, he was posted to guard the capital city of Avamore, far away from his clan's location. There, he was able to provide his service, eventually catching the eye of the then newly appointed Duchess, turning into her personal guard. Requiring a Class 2 classification in order to be of service at her side, he accepted the challenge.

Trivia

If a sidequest is done from the beginning of the turn of events all the way to Avamore, the last province to be visited, a special event will be triggered where both Annabelle and Augustus are temporary party members, who are both over-powered. That is the only chance to use them in battle, and only lasts a short event.
