Appearance

Floyd is 179 cm (5 ft 10 in) tall. He is in a good physical condition and takes care of himself by exercising regularly and eating healthy. His skin tone is light and slightly tanned, his hair is warm brown and his eyes are green with a brown circle around the pupil. He has some moles on his face and body. He smiles often and he has cheek dimples. The length of his beard or stubble depends on his mood, but usually he has a short stubble.

Floyd dresses in well-fitting smart casual clothes. He has a good and a balanced posture, but if he can roam freely, he rarely stands still. He is flexible, and can be often found sitting in weird positions.

Skills

Floyd's main instrument is guitar, but he can also play harmonica, drums and piano, and he has a decent singing voice. He can speak some French.

Personality

Floyd is energetic and loves to have people around him, and he feels uneasy if he has to be alone. He is a nice and warm person who jokes and smiles a lot, and he is rarely seen upset about anything. He is super confident and he doesn't really think much what consequences his actions might take: so far he has been lucky and his bright and easy-going personality has solved his problems for him. At his youthhood Floyd's restless nature led him into troubles, but over the years he has calmed down a bit and at least he's not getting physically hurt so often anymore.

Floyd has a colorful love life and even though he says he dreams about settling down one day, in reality he doesn't want to be committed to anyone. He is always on-the-go and wants to participate in as many activities as possible. He is an easy person to come along with, he is funny and kind, but he doesn't really get either his own or other people's feelings. As the story goes by, he will notice that he barely knows himself and what he really needs, and slowly he starts to lose a grip on himself.

Backstory

Floyd was a younger brother of two. His father was a guitarist in a well-known rock band and his mother worked as a journalist. He lived in Sudbury for his whole life until he moved to Toronto to study television production where he made friends with his course mates Chris and April. Floyd and Chris once made a short video on on an airport when their flight was delayed, and the film was a surprise hit on the Internet. They started making more videos, and soon they made a deal with a television company to make an actual series of them goofing around the country. As the story goes by, they gain more popularity and become more famous, and a huge mess is starting to form.

Extra info

• Likes to cook and takes food quite seriously.
• In the beginning of the story he buys a red 1965 Chevrolet Impala SS and cherishes it until the end. The previous owner had left a CD in the car and Floyd plays it every time he goes for longer road trips.

Trivia

• Floyd's current character started to form to what he is now in 2011, but his prototypes are much older. The first version of him was created in 2007: his name was Michael and he was a talk show host with depression and problems with love life (very cringey stuff, I died a bit inside when I went through the old notes and drawings). During 2007-2011 he evolved slowly to fit another stories as a side character, and finally he got his own story and his character was really starting to form. I dug him up in 2018 and fixed him even more, and all the pieces are starting to come together.
• The story starts in 2018 or 2019 when Floyd is about 30 years old, and after leaving his brother's house he obviously tries to kill himself. Then the actual story follows his life from 2013 when he was a young man full of energy to the point when he wanted to end it all.
• I don't remember why I chose him to own Impala, but it's actually a nice detail so I'm not going to question it!
