"Phones and TV are nice and all, but they don’t have the same magic as books. With books you can learn and expand your horizons, while still being able to have some leeway with your own creativity...! Hmm... Oh wait... You can do the same with Phones and TV too... Ah. I guess this argument is as flawed as wrapping a book about hazards of plastic in plastic, haha!" The name of ‘Jasper Hope’ is a well known one in the East of London, especially to those who love books! Jasper was always an active member of the community, even as a young child when he moved in with his dad, Raymond Hope. While Raymond wasn’t really a people person until later, Jasper was always smiling at everyone, even those who didn’t wish him the best. While he had a hint of eccentricity to him, he was always a helpful child, which he proved by volunteering in the local zoo and on several occasions in his secondary school and college while studying. However, what he’s the most known for is his work in the local Waterstone, where he’s been a clerk for over 3 years, and boosted the shop’s reputation! How? For various reasons! Not only is he an aforementioned sweetheart but his passion truly shines through whenever he’s at the store, talking to fellow co-workers or customers. Something about his soft voice and how he can paint pictures with simple words helps him to let everyone into the world of fantasy and books, as there have been countless occasions when thanks to him, someone returned to reading or found their new favourite book. Everyone is cheering Jasper on his dream, as he hopes to become a writer and have his books be sold in the stores themselves; regardless, he assured people around that he won’t leave his position once he’d become famous as - to quote him - “the Waterstone had become my second home”. 1 Appearance 2 Personality 4 Roleplay Experiences 4.2 TBA 5 Relationships AppearanceJasper is a rather average-looking British man with an exclusion of his hair; with a usual height of 5’10” / 177cm, he always smiles at everyone and allows his deep-blue eyes to spark whenever he finds someone that shares his interests. Accompanying his sapphire eyes is his short hair, that’s also of the same, deep shade of blue, which is rather unusual in Britain but hey, who’s gonna judge? It fits his personality quite well! His face - along with the rest of his visible skin - is white with a hint of pink in places, contrasting his usual attire. Not surprisingly, Jasper isn’t really built well - or at least in a “he’ll fight you” way. He’s rather thin - perhaps even too thin - and despite his height probably being his biggest advantage, he doesn’t really use it for anything but being able to get a book from a higher shelf and pass it to someone else. As stated before too, he doesn’t have much muscle and in some instances, he might seem as if he’s light enough to be blown away by the wind. Jasper usually wears warm outfit, even in Summer to one’s surprise - though he explains it as being very sensitive to cold. Regardless of it, his attire became his business card in a way, along with his hair, as thanks to it he’s recognizable from afar, even on the streets of London. On his head, he wears a black and blue cap with bronzing gold ornaments, visibly having seen better times. There’s a gear-like globe in front of the cap with a blue sphere inside of it, that clatters from time to time whenever he moves, along with another gear that’s attached to the side of his hat with a little chain with a fish at the end of it. At the beginning, Jasper was known for wearing that hat when it was still too big for him, which is another reason why he’s known for it, as some of the most dedicated fans of the Waterstones saw him grow into it over the years. He also wears a set of transparent(or as transparent as they can get) hearing aids in his ears, often hidden away by his hair. Underneath the hat, however, there’s a very pretty and expensive-looking hair ornament; it has a gathering of several gems, with the main one being a moonstone and the ones surrounding it being blue pearls and amethysts. Along with it, there were several pure-white feathers attached to it, often shining whenever exposed to the light. Whenever questioned about it, he simply says that it is a treasure that a very close someone gave him a few years back, when he was a kid. Moving down, he wears a simple black T-shirt underneath his furry coat. Similarly to his hat, it is of the same dark hue, along with golden ornaments such as the buttons on his sleeves and chest and a dangling chain that connects his chest to his left arm. His sleeves end with a but of white fur - fake, of course! - along with a gradient of white that fades into the dark-brown coat, imitating snow. Furthermore, the coat reaches to just above his knees, being all fluffy inside. The coat also has two pockets on each of the sides, where he often stores pens, pencils and candy that he hands out to kids in his store. To that, he wears simple trousers of the same colour that go over his boots with a slight heel, which are black with white stripes connecting them together. He always ensures that they are shiny and polished, as he knows a lot of people tend to be shy around him and look down at the floor - he might as well make sure they have something clean to look at! PersonalityJasper is what you would expect from a bookshop clerk - a creative, caring and kind young man. Even when no one had ever seen his drafts except for his dad, you could see his creativity seeping out of him whenever he was talking to a moody child or someone with a writer block. He’s always happy to help anyone out that would struggle in the area of his expertise, and even if not he’d always try to help them out in some way; this is why, whenever there’s a problem in the Waterstones he works at, he’s the first person to be asked for help due to everyone knowing they can rely on him. He’s also a very hardworking lad, as whenever someone needs to have their shift covered he’s always happy to claim it; not only because it’s always a little bit more money for him, but also because he really enjoys his line of work and if he could, he’d be working there his whole days - he is very passionate about books, so perhaps that could explain it. He’s also very passionate about his other interests, which is why he can always be seen teaching kids various things whenever the rush-hour would end such as sewing, singing or even small trivia facts to impress your close ones with! He’s just a caring, gentle man. However, to those that never met or interacted with him tend to see him on a more odd and bizarre side. Those not used to him often find him slightly overbearing whenever he starts talking about his hobbies and often drowns out anything else despite his soft voice or the way he talks about things being slightly weird. Of course, whenever he’s being told that, he apologises profusely as he really doesn’t mean to be off-putting to others. Furthermore, he’s often seen talking to himself or moving his hands around as if he was tapping on an invisible tablet whenever he’s in thought, but it’s simply one of his quirks and how he can visualize locations of books and other things that are on his mind.
