About

Arroway is a sarcastic, smug bastard. He has a habit of annoying people, but has an even bigger habit of being surprisingly reliable about keeping his word. He's dated around a third of the Caravan by now, and has no intention of stopping anytime soon.

Backstory

Arroway was born in Brooklyn, New York, in 1902. His father had left around the time he was born, and his mother was struggling too much to provide for him, so as soon as he was old enough to fend for himself he left. Immediately scrounging for whatever he could to make a living, he found work at a small mechanic's shop, and simultaneously got another job delivering messages for a certain organization. However, the organization he was a messenger for turned out to be a violent organized crime group. Once this had been exposed, he was fired from the mechanic's shop and left to fend for himself on the streets. That night, the mechanic's shop mysteriously was set on fire, the owner dying in the blaze. He was put to trial in court for the crime, being the obvious suspect. Witnesses even provided that he was there that night, despite his desperate defense of being on the complete opposite side of town. The jury was not impressed, and he was thrown into prison to be hanged the next morning. That night, the Caravan appeared, saving Arroway's life in exchange for his loyalty. He accepted.

powers

Arroway is entirely made of a strange, ink-like substance that he bleeds when he is wounded. He can shape shift, but not at will. He can only transform into other people once he touches them in some form, and after that can keep up the form for as long as he likes. However, if he shifts back into his normal appearance, he needs to touch the individual again to shift back. His primary forms include his human version, and his cat version. He is able to shift between the two at will. Arroway's only other ability includes fast healing, as long as he has the ink required to patch up his wounds.

Items

Arroway's hat is the article of clothing which contains the Caravan symbol, but he can mask it if he shifts into his cat form. He also carries a bag full of various pens and jars of ink, just in case.

Universes

Arroway's universe is called Captcha, and is actually a pocket dimension that exists inside an enchanted photograph. The photograph was created by the mechanic Arroway worked with, and was able to capture an exact moment in the real world, but in black and white. The photograph featured Arroway petting his cat. The real Arroway was killed by the Convoy.

• When sleeping, his dreams play across his skin like a miniature movie. They're often... disturbing.
• Bones is not Arroway's actual name. Only Burns knows his real one, and she seems very adamant about not revealing it for some strange reason.
• Being the Caravan translator, Arroway knows THOUSANDS of languages. Name it, he knows it.
• The more intense emotions he experiences, the more likely you'll find him in his cat form.
• Arroway has kissed all the leaders at some point
• Even though Error still had influence over Caustic, he subconsciously recruited Arroway because he likes cats.
