  • Bella Gore

    gfmp3mb.png
  • pronouns he/they
  • allegiance The Fallen
  • species Eelektross
  • theme Carnivore

Energetic • Eccentric • Empathetic

Bella's normally carefree demeanor masks a much deadlier side. Whimsical as he often is, he can be eerily focused when the situation calls, and is not easily deterred from his objectives. Sometimes his over-eagerness earns him a scolding from Astaroth, who would rather he take his time to plot for the long-term rather than living so in-the-moment, while Luci usually encourages his free-spiritedness. Considered the usual source of encouragement for The Fallen, he is the one who is most capable of pulling Luci out of his self-destructive ruts, and motivates the siblings with his liveliness. Put plainly, he's got plenty of heart and spark.

He has an acute hatred for wastefulness: whether it be waste of food and other resources or wasted potential and opportunities. He especially despises misers who dispossess the general populace. Such behavior, he believes, breeds other kinds of evil in the souls of people, which he delights in punishing every chance he gets. It's a past-time that keeps him occupied in-between hunts for demons and demon gods.

No matter the scale of his (mis)adventures, Bella always seems to hunger for more. This intensity has led him to become much more involved in the concerns of mortals than his siblings, and as a result, he's much more sympathetic to their needs and concerns. While the others have little care for collateral damage, Bella would rather avoid needless bloodshed of the innocent. That, and he seems to find delight in the little things in life, like hidden wonders of nature or everyday acts of kindness. In his spare time, besides dealing with the misers, he can be often found roaming around among mortals, or picking up what he calls his "people projects" in an attempt to help out those in trouble.

Really, though, don't mind the teeth. He's actually quite friendly.

"Eat the rich."

Design Notes

  • The golden parts of his hair are bioluminescent and glow.
  • He has long, sharp teeth that stick out around his lips. They are visible regardless of whether his mouth is open or closed.
  • The underside of his tail is covered also with layers of sharp, jagged teeth. The arrangement doesn't matter, as they constantly break off and regrow anew.
  • His sclera (the "whites" of the eyes) are red, and his irises are red with a bright golden ring around the outer rim. His pupils are black, and his eyelids are golden.
  • He has a halo of four sharp teeth above his head which are placed perpendicular to each other. He can "hide" it by "turning off" the light, obscuring his angelic presence.

Misc. Notes

  • He can flash the lights of his halo and hair as a warning display, or when he's excited about something, creating colorful displays like that of a deepsea creature. The brightness/dimness can be used to interpret his mood.
  • His weapon of choice is a trident, which he can use for both close-range attacks to impale opponents, or channel electrical energy to strike from a distance.
  • Roughly 5'10" (177.8 cm) tall.

Favored moves: Crunch, Wild Charge, Crush Claw, Thunder, Gastro Acid, Thunder Wave, Dragon Claw, Aqua Tail, Superpower, Drain Punch, Fire Punch, Knock Off, Giga Impact.

Trivia

  • He likes to steeple his fingers together, and will often do so in the middle of conversations or when he's thinking about something.
  • Along with Luci, he is fascinated by humanity and actively tries to understand their creative processes and experiences. He's also greatly disturbed by human suffering, and is determined to do his duty of destroying demons to try to better at least one aspect. In addition, he involves himself in their daily lives and actively seeks out additional "people projects."
  • He's the most merciful of all the angels.
  • Has a thin, pretty voice and an infectious laugh.

Origin

When The Renegade was defeated and banished to a limbo-like state of non-existence, they sensed a terrible threat which had come into being as a result of their endless fight with The Architect. Unable to communicate the danger, they used the last of their strength to make the seven angels and cast them into the new universe, entities of great Power who were meant to serve as protectors of the worlds and the humans that came to inhabit them.

Bella came into being after Luci and Astaroth, into a universe which was already largely infested with demons. A beacon of hope to the angels, who were vastly outnumbered, Bella adapted quickly to the situation at hand, providing offensive pressure and moral support for his older siblings. As the entity of Gluttony, he tends to try to produce excess joy in those around him with his lively personality. Empathetic by nature, he tends to become very emotionally involved in situations which catch his attention, and he takes it upon himself to try to care for the more unspoken aspects of wellbeing for the other Fallen. Though he isn't exactly the merciless fighter that Astaroth was born to be, he's a thoughtful individual who cares for the humans on a more personal level.

Early on, Bella spent a great deal of time among the mortal people The Fallen were supposed to protect, thinking that they could not possibly understand their needs if they did not know the details of humans' daily lives. This attention to the mundane gave him a rather different perspective on the war, as he argued for the preservation, wherever possible, of life across the worlds.

Past

The Fallen were devastated when Luci lost his wings and will to fight, and shut himself in his Library forever after. Bella became increasingly concerned for Luci's both physical and mental health, as it as clear that his brother deals still with the trauma of his "accident." Realizing that Luci began to attach himself to the idea of amassing stories, Bella encouraged his passion as a means for him to cope with and develop pathways to healing--or at least learning to live with--his state of mind. During his time spent among the humans, Bella would also collect books, and write down stories told by word of mouth to bring to Luci, as well as begin to put together his own sort of ethnographic studies to add to the collection.

Every now and then, Luci would enter terrible depressive episodes, and Bella would always be there to support him through them, acting as a guiding light through the darkest of periods. Though he knows Luci refuses to talk about what happened, he's determined to let him know that there is, along with all the Evil across the worlds, the love, happiness, and hope that persists through it all. Always smiling, Bella would take this sentiment with him wherever he went, to human realms and all throughout history.

Bella was also likely the first of the entities to notice a new type of demon which emerged among the mortal folk, born from their own corruption. The most carefully connected to the lives of the people, he fought also against the feelings of fear, hatred, and other negative taints that could warp human souls into something terrible. Though he is in general, a gentle and sympathetic individual, he despised seeing things like selfishness and hostility fester in the hearts of man, and would severely punish those who fell prey to such vices. Those who allowed themselves to be devoured by sin would then be devoured by the consequences, brought by Bella's lightning and the cutting teeth of his trident.

Present

Bella remains convinced that the key to finally ending the war against the demons may very well lie in humanity. Multiple times, he has tried to convice Astaroth--who leads The Fallen in Luci's place--to consider allying with them and fighting the demons together. His sister, however, remains unconvinced, and has not taken these pleas seriously, as she thinks humans to be weak and unreliable. Though frustrated by this, Bella continues to fight, and dowhat he can on his own, including continuing to spend time the mortals in order to better understand them still.

He believes in Hildebrand and the God Hunters, and similar groups like them who have rise on their own to battle the unending Evil. He remains optimistic that one day, Astaroth will eventually be persuaded to work together with them, and that a united front would make The Fallen stronger and more capable than ever to do their duties.

Luci Fleur

Bella is keenly aware of Luci's depression, and takes it upon himself to try to help however he can. He frequently visits the Library to support him and offer a shoulder to lean on, or just the moral support and sense of togetherness absent so often in Luci's self-isolation. He also appreciates the leeway Luci gives him to roam and interact with mortals however he pleases, and enjoys telling the librarian of his adventures whenever he gets the chance.

Astaroth

Bella respects Astaroth's authority as the functioning executive leader of The Fallen, but worries often about just how inflexible his brother is about his job, and wishes he would look after himself just as much as he looks after the other angels. They don't exactly see eyes-to-eye over how to treat and deal with humans, but Bella understands that Astaroth is, in his own way, trying to do the right thing. He just wishes sometimes that Astaroth wouldn't be so overprotective.
