ABOUT

Nikita Slovacek is a gruff, unkempt figure, a doctor, and a Czechoslovakian native; a driven young man with a promising future turned depressed drifter living with crippling survivor's guilt. Nikita was born and raised in a small European town within a strict and traditional family, a family soon torn apart by a civil war born out of growing unrest beneath his country's surface. He enlisted in the army as a surgeon, and because he was one of the few available, the influx of dying soldiers he was expected to operate on became overwhelming. Under his handiwork were many lives lost, and coupled with the intense trauma of enduring war, Nikita was dispatched from the army a grief-stricken, utterly broken man with unimaginable guilt resting on his shoulders. Nikita performed his ritual on impulse as a way to extend his lifespan - a bid made out of hope that he could find a method to repent for what he believes he is responsible for - and to hopefully die feeling as if he'd did something to make up for it.

PERSONALITY

Nikita is blunt, curt, and hard to read. While he was a driven and one-track minded young man in his youth, the lack of purpose he feels in the present day has weathered him, leaving him unmotivated and disoriented and moreso floating aimlessly through life rather than living it day by day. Though the war he endured has long reached it's end, he carries on almost as if it still rages on; he is frugal and conservative with his resources and can never finish a full meal. The army taught him the art of emotional repression, and he has difficulties showing, processing, and communicating how he feels. He's a homebody nowadays and prefers to keep to himself, and is rarely found out and about. His presence is almost like a ghost, in that way; if you catch a glimpse of him, he is gone almost instantly, leaving you to question whether or not he was ever there to begin with.

The unspeakable trauma of war has changed Kita down to his bones...however, if anyone could look deeper within him, they might see a glimmer of the person he used to be. While not the most outwardly charismatic person, Nikita is doggedly loyal and values this trait in others, willing to put himself in harms way for those he truly cares about. He is independent, a freethinker, maybe once a dreamer; someone willing to deviate from the beaten path and challenge the conventions to which he is expected to conform. He's not what you would call "conventionally kind", but those who are drawn to someone with a more passsive, tongue-in-cheek and sarcastic way of showing affection might enjoy his presence.

TRIVIA

Nikita's left eye is a socket filled with blood aura. When disguised, it's an empty socket. If an eye is covered, it will always be this eye.

Nikita is tall, built, but incredibly scrawny. He has rather thin arms and legs and his ribs are visible when he stretches. He looks as if he was meant to be more muscular than he is.

Relationships

SATURNINO [ home ]

His other half, his lost counterpart, the fuel to a young Kita's drive, Saturnino was his best and only true friend back in the small, dreary little Czech town they both reluctantly called home. They motivated eachother and were practically inseparable before war sundered their fates. Believing he was dead for decades and now reunited, Kita cherishes Saturnino dearly, and will do anything to keep him in his life, no matter how their relationship may shift as time passes.

Nikita's hellhound is a complete mystery. Due to the sloppy and inexperienced method he used to conduct his ritual, Kita has bound himself to an entity he knows not the name or intentions of, nor the power it posesses. When it does manifest, however, it always has an air of...what Kita would describe as vague, yet bitter disappointment in him. It unnerves Kita, and knowing that an entity lays dormant within him that he doesn't know what is capable of stresses him if he thinks on it much.
