黎毅林 Lí Yìlín

Personality:

Li Yilin is flirty, audacious, and no doubt dangerous. He draws everyone close despite that slightly dangerous glint in his eye. His mind seems to never stop calculating the future, always seeing who/what can be used/of use to him. While Li Yilin is certainly manipulative and gives the impression that he could switch sides at any time, he is extremely loyal to those he cares about. Even if it means manipulating those he cares about so they are safe. He does not care about politics all that much but, oh does he love outmaneuvering those that try to control him.

He is very affectionate to those he cares about and always loves picking up little things here and there from his journeys and always tries to clear time for his friends when he's in the area.

Li Yilin is fiercely independent and determined to solve things by himself, he does not like accepting help and often needs to be forced to see that help would be well...very--extremely helpful. 

Background:

As a direct descendant from the Li Sect founder, Li Yi Lin is next in line for leadership and has made quite a reputation for himself. Previously known as a master duelist, Li Yilin had topped all sorts of competition over the years. He was especially famous for his individual battles and team competitions, where his incredible control over his abilities and strategic abilities overpowered and outsmarted many.

He became scouted by the Kingdom to become a strategist for them after many impressive hunts and conversion of smaller clans to be part of the Li Sect. Li Yiling is currently a guest in the Kingdom but did not frequently stay in the Palace until recently //ohoho. He does not have a permanent position in the Palace as he “politely” called himself too young to already be chained up and only accepted the position on the basis that he would only come when there was a dire chance of war/catastrophe. 

As of now, Li Yilin is the only person able to utilize both light and dark energy as it is a very chaotic mix of energy. He is what someone would call the closest master of all as his incredible innate ability to convert pure energy into other classes of magic at a moments notice makes him extremely well versed in many classes of magic (he did struggle in the beginning but had a nice stepping stone installed in his body au naturale lol). But, he still considers himself only a specialist of dark/light energy.

Born with a strong core/body, Li Ming has an unusual ability where his body is able to absorb/convert/store both pure and dark energy inside of him at the same time. However, the absorption stains his skin gray, making his skin darker the more he absorbs (vice versa for light energy). 

• Dark energy doesn’t play well with instruments that are for helping the usage of energy (tends to break the equipment) and thus LYL usually doesn’t bring equipment. 
  • Forms spears/swords with his dark energy; depending on how strong the inscriptions are on his opponent’s weapon and his opponents skill, he can forcefully eat away the inscriptions and break their weapon
• Number 1 cultivator of his generation, he measures up to many of the older generation
• Too much dark energy can threaten to consume him, making him lose control of himself
• Too much pure/light energy can burn his core
• Li Yilin finds dark energy more powerful offensively and usually stores more of it
• His body does try to balance out the amount of light/dark but both sides are greedy for their own magic
  • Had to learn to control his core so both sides don’t try to wreck him as they do the “if you’re getting more, that means I need more."
• He can directly absorb pure dark energy but instead of darkening his skin, it seems to spread from his core (like flames) throughout his body. It is more taxing on the body for him as his body isn't synthesizing to a stable level for him to use 

Other:

- His body is inked with magical markings that help him balance the energies. They were used to help Li Yilin learn how to control himself when he was young. Nowadays, they are only automatically activated as his last defence and aren’t typically visible unless Li Yilin chooses to have them seen.

- They were made in his mother’s blood

- Is usually out on hunts and aiding other areas
