The proud lieutenant (co-leader) of a vicious gang of werewolves, Kuma is loyal to a fault. He follows a fairly archaic set of beliefs- anyone who beats him in combat he will respect. It's led him to continue to take abuse from his gang leader Blue. Kuma does want the best for his gangmates and sees them as a family to protect, often doing all of the heavy lifting by himself. It's a daunting task, so he's often a little grouchy and ill-tempered with strangers. Only once respect has been earned will Kuma show his softer, smarter side. He's a cunning, complicated man who likes to hide his real intelligence by acting like a brute. 

Eventually captured by the rival gang, he learns that humans aren't so bad when he's forced to interact with the rival gang leader Kazuki. Even the rival gang can tell Kuma has been incredibly mistreated by Alpha, and while I could ramble about Kuma/Kaz for hours, yes they are enemies to lovers and yes the slow burn is worth it.
