Tortoise

Tortoise the Blastoise was originally born from Blue version in 1999.  Megan was ten years old and had no idea of what to do with him. The name was not inspired. His moveset was very basic. But he never left the party,and thus grew very strong. He could solo the Elite Four by spamming Water Gun and nothing else. He was strong and noble and loved. 

That Blue cartridge died early. He was gone fast. 

When Megan got ahold of Fire Red years later, Tortoise was revived. A Squirtle once more, but with all of Megan's memories of his previous life. This time she had a faint notion of how to handle her Pokémon. After a journey through Hoenn she had learned to maintain small strings of narrative as she conquered the game. She did the same in this new reconstructed Kanto, and each tenuous wisp of the web of story was wrapped firmly around Tortoise and all the love and sentiment Megan had imbued in him. 

It was many more years later that Megan grew into her narrative power and grabbed those faint lines of fond memory. And with the skill and experience of a storyteller and artist, she ran power into those strands and made them A Story. And the story begins with Tortoise.
