UNIT 03: Emma Kepler🎂 ???

🌐 ??? Twilight-lit wanderer of the Red Suburb and lab rat for a mysterious organization called the Quantum Understanding and Engineering Research Instistute (or QUERI). Emma is a sickly teen from Appalachia whose psychological problems and gender dysphoria are blamed on his "attention seeking behavior" and he is left to navigate the world without help. At odds with himself, his family, and his hometown, he finds comfort in the cult of personality constructed by Adam, eventually causing him to sign his rights away to participate in his research project. Unfortunately, Emma's propensity towards intense self-destruction and mental gymnastics proves to make Adam's research a bit more difficult. Emma is anxious and deeply insecure, finding it nigh impossible to navigate interpersonal relationships. His inability to communicate and express himself leaves him feeling alone and abandoned, something which bothers him greatly. He seeks to (in vain) attain cleansing self-punishment, believing himself to be inherently a horrible person, and fixates on concepts that he feels can return him to a purer state of being. |
