W-what happened to me....?

After a freak accident occurred during the attack on Calamity Ganon 10,000 years ago Split’s consciousness was separated into thousands of pieces glitching through time. After this, she adopted the name Split and found herself existing thousands of times at once causing her great confusion on top of all the other emotions she was dealing with. Over the course of time she has managed to collect herself into a mere handful of selves across the 10,000 years she’s been existing. In addition to this she is now mostly in control of her time travelling ability’s – only doing so when she wants or exhausted/injured.

Background

Split was born into a small and remote farming village called Zara and for the first 20 years of her life she was named Dareia. As per tradition in the village at a young age, she made the choice to venture out into the wild in search of her destiny. While most children opted to do this between the ages 10-12 (although it wasn’t unheard of for children as young as 7 or old as 15 to do this) Split ventured out at 9 which made for a very emotional farewell at the annual coming of age festival which was held in honour of those setting out to make their mark on the world. While most children returned within an average of five years, there were also cases (averaging 1-2 per year) where children would either die on their journey or simply choose not to return. It’s because of this that the ceremony served not only as coming of age for the children but also as a way for families to bid farewell. After a year or so of travelling from village following various rumours and tall tales Split came across a village of Sheikah engineers. Fascinated by the advanced technology Split found the head engineer and begged for an apprenticeship. After proving her potential to them she was accepted and for the next 10 years she studied and became one of the leading engineers with the Shiekah(making an occasional visit home to show off her inventions and visit her family). When Calamity Gannon rose her home village was one of the first destroyed and overcome with grief she took the prototype for a new faction of guardian which she had been working on and tried to take on Calamity Ganon. This did not end as she hoped as before Calamity Gannon was even aware of her presence her guardian malfunctioned and imploded, taking her down with it...
