Also known as K-#02. A professional contract killer with a dash of mafia boss vibes. Both elegant and brutal in how he performs, with no in betweens. There is not a single wasted movement in how he moves. He does thing as quickly as possible. Very highly sought after among those who can afford to pay for his services, doesn't have many skills aside from killing people. He's so good that regional governments prefer to leave him alone just because they are also viable clients. Has taken down the corrupt, the innocent and even former allies. Essentially a skinny tornado made out of violence and expensive suits. Was supposedly involved with the government before he entered his current field. Super impressive track record, truly a top dog contract killer.
As an employer, he has high standards and provides airtight, beneficial contracts. Is very active on a car forum under the username "Coin". Doesn't really touch social media otherwise. His business card has a moth motif to make it distinguishable. Tired grump.
PERSONALITY
Normally professionally calm, stoic, straight-laced, a little broody but also very volatile, world-weary and short-tempered; all confined haphazardly in his stylish clothes. Used to be more jovial and crack morbid jokes back in the day, but that's been subdued very much since.
Rich and loaded as one would expect. Very materialistic and likes to spend his money on anything that has high value, preferring tailored suits, fast cars, fast boats and fast planes. Copes with his unfortunate reality and gravity of it with exorbiant spending (after all, this is the only thing he can do-- if he feels dirtied by his monetary gain, what else can he be?), and he treats those in his profession who are in it simply for the money with contempt.Similarly, he isn’t fond of the show-off types and considers them unprofessional. Self-confident, rightfully so, in a nonchalant way that comes with experience. He can come off as arrogant with how he carries himself; he knows his worth, and rarely feels the need to apologise for anything. He is always in demand, he would do almost anything for money, with only few hard limits. Patient when it comes to his job but doesn't like to waste time otherwise. Holds grudges for a very, very long time, and trust that he will chase you down to the ends of the earth to get his revenge. He kills quickly, but likes to torture those he doesn't like. Possessive and protective of the things he owns, which is often a vehicle for his grudge-making. At times, childishly petty.
Still a bit of a gentleman buried 10 feet in that cement-like outer layer of his, capable of quiet respect, and in louder ways too (but still wordless, because he could never tell someone he respects them to their face) if you ask his employees. They're the only people he's "nice" to, though by nice he just doesn't snap at them or look as if he could murder them at any second. He'll tell people it's because they are capable and that he needs them for his job to run as smooth as possible, but there's a little more to it. Unfortunately, this has made his assistant simp hard for him, and he's not sure what to do about that.
His only relationship experiences are whatever happened during his schooling days, and strictly one night stands during his career. He's very aware of his unstability relationship-wise.

TLDR: Used to be very good government black operative, got disillusioned by shitty people involving him in shitty personal politics, now he kills people for a living because what else can he do? Became a contract killer and thankfully had a connection that could help him with mission control, and he was this nice old man who liked to be called "White". White was cool and had the patience with emo Kain to work as his assistant and weapons specialist and helped Kain rise up as Top Dog Assassin and become a rich ass motherfucker. White eventually wanted to retire so Kain found, by complete chance, Jine-- who was a sad notorious reporter with tons of legal and illegal connections. Jine is stupid but she is also really capable, so Kain hired her under the guise that he was just a normal businessman. Surprise, Kain is not actually a businessman he likes to stab people; and Jine found out the hard way when she got her ass kidnapped by some dudes who were trying to get info on Kain but she had no idea what they were talking about, only holding out because Kain pays her so well that she would be stupid to not wait a maximum of 10 minutes. Kain rescues her but she still sticks around anyway and now that he has a loyal enough assistant, White retires and installs his protege and pupil as the new weapons specialist. Kain now has a tight crew and continues his adventures of killing people now with two annoying assistants who are more like his kids. Has no contact with his parents for safety reasons, who also think he died a long time ago.
Jine
Assistant / "Partner"
TW: SHE'S 25 AND HE IS 37.
His capable albeit sometimes annoying assistant. As her employer he provides very high pay rates and an air-tight contract that provides his employees no real reason to betray him. He hands out insurance like air. Because of his high standards and the occasional small favours he does, and the unfortunate fact that he is the first boss that has been relatively nice to her, she is infatuated with him, and becomes doggedly loyal to him to an extreme degree. He finds this extremely naive and sees a bit of his former self in her.
Initially he didn't plan to tell her that he was a killer, but she discovered that he was one after she was kidnapped the first time anyway. He prefers not to establish too many unprofessional connections since they are literal liabilities to a contract killer and shoots down most of her attempts to flirt with him. Cares for her in a pure boss-assistant way, and enough that he hopes that she will retire quickly and live a good life. Only later does he see Jine's presence as a comforting one, one that he would feel strange about if it suddenly disappears, and is hesitant to fire her when she refuses to retire even though she's been kidnapped twice by this point. He feels insecure about the fact he cannot provide to her what she needs and that him being in her life could endanger her. He's there to pick her up emotionally and help her rediscover herself after a major incident and sort of ends up in an exclusive relationship with her after her official retirement.
LUCIO
Employee
Not his real name, yes, he picked it because it's his favourite Overwatch character. Weapons specialist, part of Kain's two-man mission control team. Hooked up to connections that can provide him firearms without having to procure them in more legal ways. Lucio was White's protégee who was specifically trained to take up White's position in the business. Likes his job and doesn't have many complaints, but is scared of his boss because of his infamous short temper, even if Kain has never snapped at Lucio before. Gets super on edge and a little paranoid when Kain is obviously pissed off at something.
WHITE
Friend / Former Employee
Not his real name. White was Kain's former assistant AND weapons specialist. Think Batman's butler. One of Kain's former contacts after he left the government, they worked together to establish Kain's fearsome reputation and pushed him to be one of the most sought-after contract killers. Eventually wanted to retire because he was an old man, and stayed long enough to train Jine when she was recruited before leaving to become a bartender and letting Lucio take over his position. Actually likes the chill life of his new job. Although Kain's contract specifically states that he and his team can't bother White with their work, it doesn't apply when the former employee decides to help out of their own free will. White's bar is a hub of information so he occasionally chooses to help them out.

- Favourite food is venison.
- Only calls Jine by her full name when he's legit annoyed or angry at her. She responds... not the way he expects. She's on cloud nine whenever that happens.
- When drunk, he's less pissy, but WAY more broody and melancholic. He avoids drinking because of this and only drinks socially.
- Only knows how to entertain himself if he's spending money. It's a godsend he isn't too competitive because if he ever got into games he would get to the top using money alone. Thankfully he's too tired to play games nor has any interest in video games, even though Lucio tries to get him into them. Doesn't even react to the shooter ones even if he might be good at it.
- Doggedly determined to do anything for the benefit of a mission. Even if he wants to die while doing it, he'll do it. Force him to play mobile dating sim games so he has the knowledge he needs to wow his target with his wealth of information because they happen to be a dating sim otaku? He'll do it. And he'll be that pay to play player who blasts his way through routes because he can. Buys the premium stories too. When Jine (an extreme f2p player) asked why, he just said "because it said 'premium'".
- The type to spoil shows when he watches ahead. Spoiled dating sim routes for Jine.
- Running gag of Kain asking Jine for intel on their next target but she's a hardcore gossiper and gives him the most irrelevant information like how she's 88.45% sure the guy's wife is cheating on him with their neighbour.
- Does honeytrap missions, just goes with this stoic suave persona. Jine is extremely moody whenever he picks these kind of jobs. Slams doors, makes his coffee way hotter than it needs to be, so on.

- Decided to come up with contracts because once time he really needed some random person to back him up so he gave someone a wad of cash to be the distraction, almost got them both killed, so he decided to sit down with a lawyer and draft contracts up.
- He does actually tune into Jine's radio show (even more so after she retires), he likes listening to her sing. When he told her this she got super giddy and started singing more on air.
- His favourite type of date is a scenic drive. His least favourite type of date, and general date setting, is anywhere that happens to be snowy, because he thinks it's easier to hide killers in the snow, so he won't risk it. Is usually almost always still wearing a dress shirt and pants. Vest is sometimes on, sometimes off. The jacket is only on when he's cold.
- When Kain and Jine do the do he stares at her so intensely that it makes her embarrassed, like, he doesn't pay attention to anything else around them. Good scenery out the window? Fuck that, look at my bae. Also, mile-high club member.
