Story

Dudley's fate was sealed when he emerged from the water lily. A metal doll, accompanied by several other newborn fabric dolls, took him to a hidden place where they were to be educated under the guidance of metal doll guardians. The purpose of their confinement and rigorous training was shrouded in mystery. Speculation suggested it was to prepare them for the dangers of the outside world. They were promised their freedom after a decade of successful training, but their interactions with fellow fabric dolls were strictly limited. Dudley's guardian was a fierce metal doll with fiery eyes called Farah, skilled in combat but ill-suited for nurturing.
Despite their differences, a unique bond developed between Dudley and his guardian over the years. He was a challenge, not conforming like the others. However, the final exam loomed, a test that would determine their future. Meanwhile, his guardian underwent strange transformations, adding weapons and other enhancements to her body.
The day of reckoning arrived, marked by a terrifying twist. The exam was a test of trust and loyalty to the organization. Guardians were ordered to raise their weapons and aim them at their wards. A tumultuous uproar ensued, but the guardians reluctantly complied. The fabric dolls were forced to their knees, and the "exam" began. One by one, the guardians hesitated but ultimately pulled the trigger, sending cries of fear through the rows of fabric dolls. Dudley, near the end of the line and armed with his dodo companion, seized an opportunity when chaos erupted. He broke free and fled, his guardian not stopping him.
Running for his life, Dudley was struck by excruciating pain and fell to the ground, captured by the second in command, Utao. In a cruel twist, his guardian was next in line. Despite his pleas, she aimed her weapon at him, ending his torment with a single shot... or so he thought. Not him, but Farah died. Someone has shot her in the head and he was able to escape with his companion Tasche.

Years later, Dudley had healed both physically and emotionally, becoming a traveling merchant with a passion for money. He formed an even closer bond with his companion and befriended a woman named Liora, who shared a traumatic past. Dudley had found a semblance of happiness until he met his presumed dead foster mother again.
She joined the fellow travelers in the hope of explaining to Dudley the truth of their past... and who really shot her.
