Ryo's non-danganronpa canon is equally as canon as school mode, and is a happier take on their story.

Ryo is 5'2, with a thin build and short bleach blonde hair. They wear their hair slicked back with sunglasses on top of their head. They have round, innocent looking eyes with prominent undereye eyelashes. They have a small button nose, and a gentle :3 shaped mouth. They are attractive, but don't put much effort into their appearence so they're often percieved as plain

Ryo struggles with identity issues, constantly comparing themself to their selfassured and confident siblings. They're kind and soft spoken, preferring to help others stand out while being unsure of their own aspirations and goals. They're uncomfortable with being recognized for their fame, and try to avoid being spotted by fans.

Ryo and their twin sister, Ryousuke were born to Kazuichi, a famous fashion designer, and Elizabeth, a famous model, Aimoto. Their parents craved more fame and intended for Ryo and Ryousuke to be their tickets to it. And they were, for a time. They were raised to be docile child stars by their parents through abuse and threats. The twins were only three and already learning to act by the time their sister, Usuke, was born. She was taught to be an idol with gentler methods and when the twins were five, and Usuke was two, their final sibling was born. their brother, Ryou, was also supposed to be an idol, and began training for it. The Aimoto parents abuse was discovered only a few years after Ryou was born and all of the children were taken away from them and put into an orphanage. It was there that Ryo first met Hikari Utamori, a girl who would be one of their closest friends growing up.

It didn't take long for the Aimotos to be adopted, and they were lucky enough to stay together. Their new caregiver was Kai Himora, a kind but inexperienced mother. She had plenty of money and took good care of the children into their teenage years, providing all of them with therapy and the freedom to choose what they wanted to do with their lives. Ryo really struggled with this, often lying to the therapists to seem alright and not bother anyone, but they and Ryousuke had been under their parents thumb for the longest and didn't walk away unscarred.

When the children became teenagers, Kai encouraged them to find jobs to learn responsibility and prepare them for their own lives, and Ryo tried to find a standard job but every time someone recognized them from their past family, it felt like a dagger in their heart, so Ryo went back to acting. At least then, it felt like they had control of something that had been used to control them. They could choose what jobs they wanted to take, and they had the deeply taught talent for it. Ryo easily earned enough money to fund their recreation, and began to save up for college.

When Ryo did graduate highschool and went to college, they had saved up enough to take care of all of their expenses and provide them a proper nest egg for adulthood. With that in mind, they decided to stop acting- at least for the time being- to try and find some passion that actually feels like it belongs to them. Through their school, they met Felix Paris, a boy their age who knew nothingabout their fame and the two would eventually fall in love- Although it was a long process with plenty of misunderstandings.
