Maxine was the leader of a small rogue group that was dissolved after sickness struck. With her group shattered, Maxine started to travel around Agrelos. She went to many different groups including the Cartel, the Exiles, the Shadow Veil, the Painted Brigade, and finally the Knights of Eden. She became leader of the Knights of Eden rather quickly and reconnected with her sons. Recently, the Knights of Eden moved territories under Maxine's guide.

Mafia

Since Maxine was very young, she was taught how to run a gang by Lucius, the leader of the Russian Mafia and his associate, Maksim. Saskia wasn’t allowed much time with Maxine, but made a point to protect Maxine where she could. Lucius taught Maxine the basics of finances, paperwork, swordsmanship, and most importantly murder for hire. She didn’t learn basic life skills until her second marriage. She always had someone to do that for her, so there was no need for her to learn. Max was Saskia’s first child. She was born in Lucius’s gang headquarters and was never given a birth certificate or any form of identification. Saskia doted on her daughter, mostly oblivious to Lucius’s plans to make her his heir. Once she was old enough to walk, Lucius introduced Max to gang life. First, he had her doing small things like getting papers or organization, then progresseing to cleaning guns (which resulted in a lot of accidental bullet holes in the walls). She learned to do everything right the first time or suffer Lucius’s punishment. She was set to become one of Lucius's trained hitmen. Maxine was unaware, but Saskia was fighting with Lucius behind closed doors about Lucius’s plan to gift Maxine to his associate, Maksim, as a wife. Saskia mostly left Maxine’s life after she had Max’s only full sister Nadia. After that, Lucius turned Maxine over to Maksim. He wasn’t any kinder to her than Lucius. After Viper Bordeaux started seeing Maksim nearly daily for drugs, he let up on Maxine significantly. Viper insisted Max didn’t owe him anything, but she still got him little gifts like croissants and drugs. The two sparked a somewhat distant but warm friendship until Viper went back to France to marry his fiancé. While Viper was around, Max started to leave during the night when Maksim was away, where she met Gabriel, a drug dealer. The two were casual partners, mostly because Max needed him to fuel her addiction to prescription painkillers. When Maxine fell pregnant with Maksim’s son, Gabriel convinced her to leave with him to Ireland. She did and they moved in with Gabriel’s family, who were, for the most part, all Irish mobsters. Gabriel insisted on naming Maxine’s child after Lucius, in hopes that it would soften the Russian Mafia to him a bit more. Gabriel loved Lucius like his own. His family took to Maxine right away, despite her ties to the Russian Mob and Lucius. She was taken into the Irish mob with no problems and she lived peacefully with Gabriel and Lucius Jr. until Lucius Sr. tracked her down. He forced her to kill Gabriel, with the consequence of Lucius Jr. being killed if she didn’t follow through. After that, Lucius told her she wouldn’t be welcomed back into his gang, and the Irish mob sent her out on her own with Lucius Jr. after she had killed one of their own. Max found out she was pregnant with Gabriel’s child a few weeks after his death. She returned to America with what money Maxine had. They couldn’t go too far, staying in the city of Newburgh where they had flown into. Max lived in a hotel with Lucius until she met Alexander, a friendly cop. He knew nothing of Maxine’s criminal past, but took her in and gave her a place to stay out of the kindess of his heart. Through Alex, she met her third husband, a Russian cop. Their marriage only lasted a few months, until Gabriel’s son, Alexei was born and it fell apart. After that, she met Shale on the streets. He was kind to her and was planning on starting a gang. Max fell in with his group where she met Xena Valentine, then known as Laura. They dated briefly, but broke up when Xena met her husband. They remained very good friends after however. Shale and Max started building their gang and recruiting more and more people. At this time, she got back in contact with Viper, who she thought was dead. Viper bought drugs from her for a short while. He came to join her Mafia with his boyfriend, Ramon Caro. Caro immediately took a liking to her, but Max married Viper’s brother under the agreement that Shard would start a branch of the Mafia in Paris, France. He cared very deeply for her and wanted her happy and safe. He cared for Lucius and Alexei too, but Max was more focused on building her Mafia and growing as a gang than settling into a marriage. The two divorced very quickly, much to Shard’s dismay. He remained one of her closest allies though. After her divorce with Shard, Shale quickly persuaded Max to marry him. She did and he treated her much like Lucius did. Viper and Caro were deeply concerned for her, especially when she got pregnant with Shale’s child. She remained a strong Mafia leader, and very soon a millionaire with embassies all over the globe. After Remington’s birth, Max was bedridden and seriously ill. Viper ran the Mafia under Maxine’s watchful eye. Shale turned on her, though, because he believed he deserved to run the Mafia, destroying the headquarters in a suicide bombing attack. Max took to drinking and remained single until Caro won her own. He tried to love her and take care of her but Max was cold to him, shooting him on more than one occasion and nearly killing him. She was the one to divorce Caro. During this time, Lucius’s gang had started moving into Maxine’s territory with the intention of taking down her operation. Max met John in a chance occurrence and they dated for a long while before they married. John was contacted by Saskia and insisted on giving Maxine some information she had in person. Max killed Saskia before she could tell her anything. She replaced John with Cael soon after. He was a wealthy Irish lawyer, an older man. He cared for Maxine and did all of her paperwork. She loved him deeply but wasn't the most cooperative of partners. Cael left Max after a fight one night and never came back. Max wasn’t too bothered. She was on and off with Caro for a while. She chose Xena‘s daughter Rhapsody as the future heir of the Mafia after her and Viper Bordeaux. Lucius also opened a Mafia embassy in Russia. Alexei wasn’t close to his mother, even though Max desperately reached out to him as her last connection to Gabriel. He was cold to her and never really trusted her. Battles and interferances were growing more and more frequent in her territories. Edward, a businessman residing in a country heavily involved in Maxine's affairs, reached out to her. She relied on him in her time of need and married him. She adopted her son, Matthew with Edward. She left Edward nearly as soon as they married, not really caring that Matthew hated her or that Edward was concerned about her safety. The trouble eventually grew. Max was very aware of a hitman from Lucius’s gang trying to find her, but she didn’t pay much attention to it. Without any warning, Maxine was killed with her own gun and decapitated with her sword when she was 47. Her body was burned on Mafia grounds and buried in an unmarked grave.
