Alexei Lial

Alexei Lial is a complex character. He is a satirical character that holds real life issues behind his front. His story can be upsetting to some and contains themes of domestic violence and abuse.Alexei was born without a father. He was raised in the shadow of his older, better brother Lucius. From a young age, he showed signs of mental illness that went ignored. As he got older and as Maxine found new partners, he was often 'the issue'. He was verbally abused by Maxine's partners and was never paid attention to by his mother. He fell in with the dark side of the Mafia who refused to conform to Maxine's ideals. He often partook in drugs, alchohol and parties. He had many suicide attempts before he was eighteeen. Alexei had many relationships with women who were very awful to him. His self image was horrible and Alexei began to suffer from bulimia. He grew closer with his childhood friend, Ivory Bordeaux, in his late teens. Ivory dealt with mnay of the same issues as Alexei and bonded very closely to him. Ivory tried to convince Alexei to leave te Mafia with him and start a family. Alexei refused, cheating on Ivory many times and raising his hand to Ivory on more than one occasion. He was largely excused for it. At the time, he started to see another person he knew in hiw youth, Rhapsody Valentine. He took a liking to her because she would do whatever he asked with little to say about it. Alexei wasn't as cruel to her or her daughter as he was to Ivory. He convinced her to move to the Japanese embassay with him with things started to become more rocky with the Mafia. Upon learning of Ivory's disappearance, his mental health worsened and he attempted to commit suicide. He was successful after hearing of Maxine's death, leaving Rhapsody and his step-daughter alone.
