Thurisaz may look intimidating - but he's not nearly as scary as he appears (as long as, you're not trying to steal from him; in which case he is even scarier then he looks!). Far into the northern part of the universe Thorn discovered a planet that spends most of it's months in winter (of the seven months it experiences only two of them are considered to be warm enough to be 'spring'). Considering it's lack of sentient life before Thorn arrived, he took the liberty of naming it "Niflheim". He spent much of his first months clearing an area for his home and constructing himself a wonderful viking longhouse - and not far from it, his Forge. The whole reason Thurisaz was traveling was to find a home away from the bustle of many travelers so he could focus on what mattered the most to him - Nebula Forging. And getting back to what meant the most to him as well, a simple life of hunting and taking care of yourself with the land you lived on. It took him a long time to establish his settlement, but when he was done he had wrangled some of the local livestock into pens, set up a good area for hunting and found a wonderful river that fed into a lake for water and fishing. Niflheim may have derived it's name from Norse Mythology's "land of darkness and mist" it was a paradise to the giant Nebular Nomad who made his home there.

Nebula Forging is a talent picked up from his Nebula Parents, using his own icy Nebula to craft weapons and armor for others. When his fame became too much among other species he packed himself up and took to the stars where he could forge for himself in peace. The legacy he left behind slowly faded, but there was one enthusiastic reader who took all the legends to heart and wanted to head off after him after labeling Thorn his 'hero'. But his arrival on the planet was less then well planned..And Thurisaz ended up finding a barely conscience and mostly frozen furry body on his rounds. Of course later, what he thought was a Little Wolf turned out to be...a little Nomad! Calling himself Freki, he begged Thorn to be his apprentice in Nebula Forging. The giant Neb had spent a long time in solitude...and welcomed the thought of having company. He became a father-figure nearly instantly and taught the little Neb Nom everything he could. Thanks to Freki, Thurisaz has even begun touring the planets again, selling and trading his wares for old passions and delights and sometimes...different livestock, plants and herbs. Freki was the light he needed to see again after so many years of ice and snow.

Of course you shouldn't be fooled by his patience in teaching or forging - Thurisaz has a bit of a hot head and his prone to fall into competitions in order to prove strength (be it of muscle or will, or even talent). He loves to fight, he loves to drink and he loves to eat - and if you have a problem with him he'll have a problem with you. He's almost always ready to throw down and is skilled in the art of combat - years alone did not dull the edge of his blade or his spear. Nor did it dull the edge of his love for a good party! This Nomad loves nothing more then showing off his immense size and strength to others and celebrating the fine crafting of weaponry and mead by mashing both together. Spear tossing, followed by drinking, followed by sword play, followed by drinking and food, followed by more activities! Of course, even without a party setting this giant of a Neb will celebrate a fight with a good drink (whether he won or lost...though he does seem to win a lot).

One should also never feel upset if Thorn isn't the most talkative to you when first met, sometimes without the aid of mead he is not easy with words. And while his silence may some hostile or intimidating, he does not (often) mean it to be so. So used to doing his work in the cold silence of his solitude, Thurisaz is simply not used to making small talk or even really long conversations...until he starts drinking. And then he tends to get a little too rowdy. He also has a tendency to call most of other Noms "little ones" and fondly refers to Freki as his "Little Wolf".
