Profile

boi your old art makes me wINCE as soon as I do some new stuff it's getting chucked the hell out of here good god

Carnie is a diminutive (short enough to make you wonder if he should be categorised as a little person) but burly little vampire who used to be a notable figure in the mob. He now runs a carnival that doubles as a sanctuary for supernatural creatures that otherwise have difficulty fitting in with regular human society: The Yes You Can Carnival is a multi-attraction old-fashioned travelling carnival with a big top and many other side shows. Carnie is neither the ringmaster nor the crier, but is unquestionably in charge and the carnival is his brainchild. He spends the day asleep or doing paperwork in his trailer but emerges immediately as soon as the sun goes down to administrate and wander among the patrons. On the rare occasion Carnie himself performs these days he is a tumbler, using his surprising strength and agility as part of the rest of the acrobat team.

As a vampire Carnie's strengths and weaknesses are pretty standard: he is burned by daylight and silver, and repelled by religious charms with actual faith behind them. He is far stronger than a regular human and his small body and natural speed grant him an ape-like agility. His fangs are blunt and crooked. Carnie- along with the other members of the carnival that require such things- generally doesn't hunt or attack humans in order to preserve the carnival's security. He drinks donated blood packs from their underground supplier, but doesn't particularly like them.

Carnie is a carrier of the "hellhound" vampire bloodline but in himself it is recessive, and he wasn't aware of the fact until he turned Thierry and his ward developed the traits. Carnie has a few other wards who are scattered around or who have perished, but Thierry remains one of his favourites and he's proud of him having attained a high position as the Queen's employee. Carnie himself agrees neither here nor there with the policies of the Queen, concerning himself only with the wellbeing of his carnival. After many years of violence and mob activity, Carnie now finds himself more content than he's ever been; creating and running this place to take in struggling supernaturals and give humans thrills and chills that will leave them talking about their visit for a long time after.
