The nights that Derek is home for dinner are uncommon nowadays, though appreciated nonetheless. With distance, his bond with Francine has grown tighter, the two often found outside at night, exchanging advice, and catching up. Being about three years older than Francine, Derek works to steer Francine away from the dangerous lifestyle he's found himself in. In a loving manner, he only wants the best for his family, uninvolved with what he's chosen to do with his life.
