Senses








- Vaar was born to a human mother and an elven father, a Drow merchant, in particular. Growing up, Vaar would occasional meet her father while he traveled through with his caravan to sell goods to the underdark and to bring things down of importance back to the keeps. Vaar, despite not being fully drow is not immune to the politics as her father, Akul Juztrim, is the husband of a powerful matriarch. Although her existence is a secret to most of her father's family, including his wife, with only him and Vaar's brothers knowing about her. Her existence is both in and a danger to the Juztrim's seat of power in the Underdark.

- Vaar met a gnome noblewoman named Shi Kalamann. The two were instantly smitten and Vaar found herself following after when the traveling troupe left her village and continued on to their destination. Wanting to both prove herself to Shi, who was already utterly taken with the half-elf already, Vaar joined the local military garrison and soon found herself called off to war when the army she was in was called up to fight. Vaar was the proud second to her tiefling commander, a woman named Emile, gladly fighting alongside until Emile revealed intentions to become a traitor. While able to kill Emile and the army was able to fight off the attempted insurrection Vaar none the less was offered a chance to resign with a sizable reward rather than be allowed to stay in and risk exposing how weak things were internally. Taking that money, and developing a life-long distrust and hatred towards teiflings and other creatures of infernal origin, Vaar returned to Shi and the two soon absconded off without a word, returning to Vaar village, shortly after the two were married.      

- Vaar, like most soldiers following their service has a habit to drink, gamble, fight, and...indulge in pleasures of the flesh to forget about said service. Something Vaar's wife Shi is utterly fine with so long as her wife always comes home and comes home safe. The two have a saying that the world could be burning and so long as they can hold each other when it does they wouldn't care. However, Vaar still doesn't feel she is deserving of such a formerly high ranking noble as a wife and often Vaar leaves the village to find work so that she can send back home any amount of gold that she can in order to make sure that Shi is well taken care of. Shi is also a point of contention for Vaar. Anyone who insults her should probably end up running and fast lest she end up hurting them. 


- Vaar is willing to accept most jobs for the right price but even then she does have her morals and her codes. There are things she simply won't do. It could be because she perhaps finds it repugnant, such as hurting innocents, supports a practice she wants no part in, such as the transport of slaves, to simply her not liking the person offering the job because she personally doesn't like them. Along with that while she does most of her jobs for the sake of getting gold for her wife she doesn't want to do anything that leaves a person with nothing. She'd turn down a payment, and do a job for free, if she has a feeling that taking it would do more harm than good. A good example of Vaar's personal code of conduct is that while she might not sell her services as protection to a caravan selling slaves for several hundred gold but instead would be more likely to try and free those slaves for free. 





Magic Items:

Boots of Striding and Springing: While you wear these boots, your walking speed becomes 30 feet, unless your walking speed is higher, and your speed isn’t reduced if you are encumbered or wearing heavy armor. In addition, you can jump three times the normal distance, though you can’t jump farther than your remaining movement would allow.
