Origin

Lyari was your average young adult when he was taken and experimented on by a man he only knew as The Professor. He was turned from a human to a freakish bat-human hybrid type thing. After nearly a year of torture and tests, he escaped and ran far, far away. He found a small farming village and chose to reside in a nearby shack. His only social interactions for around 15o years was spending his 3 hours of being a human in the tavern or when Faelyn would visit. He was too scared to see his parents again and by the time he got over this fear, it was too late for their human lifespans.

When he was 191, he was kidnapped again by a man running an all-monster traveling circus.

Escape from the Circus

Lyari was only in the circus for a few months when The Ringleader’s ally, an imp, offered him, a cambion named Macky, a dragon named Aibhlinn, and a were-bear, freedom in turn for eternal servitude in death. The three agreed and ran. After the party was far away and rested, Lyari suggested going to his old friend Faelyn who was now King of Fay. On the way, the team encountered a strange beardless dwarf, an absurd mercenary named Dave, and an underground monster kingdom. The party was forced to sneak into the Kingdom of Fay through a strangely dangerous sewer system where Macky acquired a weird crown-mask thing. Once they got in, they got cleaned up and went to the castle. Moments after entering the throne room, The Ringleader showed up and a battle ensued. He threw magical playing cards at Faelyn and Titania, but Lyari intercepted Titania’s. He and Faelyn were trapped in an empty pocket dimension where they discussed the idea of giving monsters civil rights. Once The Ringleader was defeated, they were freed. Not long after, Faelyn successfully began a movement to give monsters rights. Lyari became the ambassador for monsters in the kingdom.

Attack on Fay

5 years after becoming ambassador, Lyari was thriving. He had a cushy job and a girlfriend, a marilith named Naevys. However, many were against this integration of monsters, and the captain of the royal guard attempted to murder the queen then claimed the monsters had killed her. As the monsters were chased out of the kingdom, Lyari took Titania’s barely-living body and ran. Once far away, he helped Titania recover. He sent the mercenary Dave to kill the captain before returning to the kingdom and Faelyn with a group of other monsters. However, things quickly went awry. Lyari and Faelyn were put in the dungeon by The Mask who had begun to wreak havoc on the kingdom. Naevys came down and freed them, but told them to stay put. They then found out that in her cell Titania had taken her own life. They went up to the throne room to find the castle and kingdom in shambles. What little was left of the party regrouped at Faelyn’s old home. Lyari and Aibhlinn tried to have The Eternal Order resurrect Titania, but she apparently did not wish to return. Now, 7 years later, Lyari has taken his own journey across the continent to discover information on Naevys’ whereabouts, The Mask, and The Professor.
