Summary

♫  Gentle, sociable, introspective  ♫

A modest singer-songwriter who is wishin' and hopin' for his big break.

Appearance

Val is a broad and good-looking man. He has fluffy dark brown hair, and an impressive set of sideburns. He is also rather well-equipped when it comes to body hair. He has thick eyebrows, ocean blue eyes, and a tall, strong nose. He has thin lips, clear smile lines, and a square chin, as well as a rather firm jawline. He tends to wear modest clothes and is a particular fan of polo necks. He's usually seen wearing jeans and a pair of brown and white platform wingtip shoes. He always wears a thin, brown leather Zvezda watch on his left wrist, which was a gift from his father. He is 5'11".

Personality

Val is a quiet, modest guy; the type where even if you were his best friend, there would still be things you wouldn't know about him. He's very introverted, and prefers to keep his thoughts to himself. He's always putting others before himself, even when he has dreams of his own. He loves being alone, but tends to be his best self when with a close friend. And even though he may be a gentleman, he isn't afraid to speak his mind or let his true opinions show when he deems it necessary; however, he's also completely comfortable letting others take the reins. He enjoys learning new things and looking at things from a new point of view. Experimentation, especially in music, is a passion of his. He operates well in any environment and is a lover of both the old and the new.

Story

Val's story takes place in the mid-1970's in London, England (specifically 1976). A musician by heart, Val moved to the city after the small town life began to wear him and his creativity down. He is always trying to figure out how to meet new people, make good music, and get his creations out there.

Val was born in Scarcroft, a small village outside of Leeds, Yorkshire, England on June 23, 1950. The Morgan family was comfortably middle-class and regarded well by the community. Val's father, Ralph, was an electrical engineer, and his mother, Ruth, was a teacher. He has a younger brother, named Paul, born in 1953. His maternal grandparents lived in the household as well- his nan Elizabeth, a retired seamstress, and his grandad Jack, a retired factory worker. Val was raised Christian under the Church of England.

Even in his youth, Val enjoyed the quiet, sheltered village life, but always enjoyed the idea of being able to expand his horizons and constantly meet new people. He focused on studying while he was in school, and he only played sports when in P.E., preferring to spend break times reading or drawing. He didn't have many friends aside from a close friend or two, but he didn't mind being left alone. He was bullied a bit as a child, as he always seemed quite different from the other boys. He tried to deflect this by staying in the shadows and not draw any attention to himself.

For his 12th birthday, Val got an acoustic guitar of his own, and spent almost all his time playing it.

He had good marks all throughout school, and stayed after turning fifteen. He got good grades in his O-levels, and studied English Literature and Art for his A-levels. He did well in his studies, but preferred to spend his time outside school writing creative stories and music, practicing on his guitar.
