Jinkuro is a player in an MMORPG game world, Ludathe, who tends to play the game solo. He does not easily make friends and often avoids people for seemingly unknown reasons. He has only been seen to play the Yfantis class and most are under the impression that it is his main with a secondary Parnassian class, but he enjoys playing as a healer or any type of support roles despite not wanting to be around others. Though once he makes a friend he is very loyal. Kuro is known for an evasive stategy which focuses on his speed and dodging skills rather than just brute force which has earned him a high reputation for his unique play style, especially as the rarely played Pyonx race whose racial abilities are lacking compared to other races. However, he is also known for being an "unfriendly player" because he is equally evasive when it comes to people.
It isn't until he meets the twin Britiers, Azai and Akai, that his world changes. While in the past he had spent most of his time reclusively wandering the drifting snows and high mountains of Icleim which is where the Pyonxes are native in the game, he happened to be visiting Azlolis when he met them. Azlolis being one of the larger hub cities in the world and known for it's high population and large trade market was the perfect place to pick up supplies... and run into trouble. At first Kuro had been trying to avoid the twins who had tried to get to know him but he ended up going down the wrong alley at the wrong time and ran into a thug group of players who decided to pick a fight with him. While the Pyonx could handle himself in one on ones with them they decided to try and gang up on him which resulted in him becoming badly injured and to experience what seemed like real pain which had not been previously programed into the beta version from when he had originally been playing. Stunned from the fight it came down to Azai and Akai finding him and rescuing him. But rather than thank the two the proud Jinkuro decided to try and leave by any means necessary...
Only to realize one thing... he could not log out. Later, the three found themselves incapable of logging out of the game, but when they approached others about the issue they seemed to be the only ones having this ordeal... Now the three were led to try and find out the answer to this mystery... or die trying.
