Kaiou's personality was quite different before the infection. He was a loner who preferred to be on his own and was a bit of a shut in. He was always worried about being sick, injured, or what other people thought about him. It caused him to almost never leave his home except when it was desperately needed.

Of course, the infection came on one of those times.

Kaiou's paranoia about illness caused him to have attacks. He would be found sitting or laying still for hours almost looking like he never blinked. At times doctors trying to help the sick would be worried he was another casualty before he would finally start to move again. Kaiou's mind was racing, he was never sure if he was going to make it or if by morning he'd be gone. Kaiou compared to other infected wasn't hurting as much as they were, honestly the main thing that was bothering him was feeling the eyes moving on his hands, past that he felt very little coldness or pain.

It was nearing the end of the infection Kaiou realized this, and slowly started developing some sort of God complex. He felt invincible, one of the few times he got sick he came out of it mostly unscathed other than the new eyes on his face and hands. It didn't take him long after to start doing dumb stunts or things that could probably get him severely injured, solely because he feels like he was missing out on life for so long. He is a major adrenaline junky and does things solely for the thrill.
