Vesper grew up in a loving household and was a totally average kid in nearly every way. He didn't stand out in any direction for any reason. This was something that Vesper used to his advantage more often than not. He was a fly on the wall even from a young age and was privy to a great deal of gossip not technically meant for him. That being said, he was never a gossip himself, preferring to keep information close to his chest and use it when necessary than exposing those around him.
Around the time he was approaching adulthood he got invested in antiques. He went around to various yard sales and pawn shops, just looking at all the old stuff and silently appraising it. It was on one of these trips that he stumbled upon an old long forgotten recipe in the back of an old desk. This recipe would become the backbone of his own recipe that would later become the cornerstone of Vesper's brewery.
To this day Vesper still works at the brewery, making and selling beer, and keeping his ears open for gossip. Loose lips mean there's quite a bit of it and without a doubt Vesper will use it. He sells the information he gains to anyone willing to pay the price.
