He/Him - Lost Prince of a Dead Country - Bi

Several centuries ago, two countries found themselves in a war without an end, with the two sides locked in a stalemate for years on end. One country, in hopes of a better times for their children decides to send them away to hibernate until the times are better for them to come back home. 16 siblings are led far away from each other and sent into a hidden location in which they will be hidden from the enemy while they hibernate peacefully, unaware of the war outside. Unfortunately, nearly all of them were found and executed in their sleep, causing a cataclysm in which both countries were wiped to nothing but ash. However, unbeknownst to both countries was that there was one heir still alive, although asleep. He was the youngest; a cheerful young adult that didn’t worry about taking the throne and didn’t understand why he had to be led so far way from home just to go to sleep when he thought he was living in the best moments of his life, in the ballrooms of the castle surrounded by guests and good food.

Effigy wakes up suddenly centuries later, finding that the servants that were attending his side while he slept, gone. He found that the area was rather overgrown in a lot of ways, having to push apart the roots that hid his bed from the outside world. He finds that the world outside is a lot different than what he remembers; it has been completely reclaimed by nature. He tries to make his way home, but he is puzzled when the travelers he talks doesn’t recall of his home country when asked. He wanders where his home country was unknowingly as he does not recognize the area, as now it has been reclaimed by the forest with very little remnants left. There he finds the ruined castle he used to live in, but he is unable to recognize it as such due to its decay. He decides to take up temporary residence in it until he can figure out what’s going on.

Currently, he lives in his family’s very much ruined castle besides a nearby swamp. He’s befriended the lone Fae there, and while they cannot give him their answer as to where their siblings and home is, he appreciates the company even if Dragonfly tries not to. Occasionally travelers come by and Effigy questions them, with no luck when it comes to where his siblings and home is...
