Growing up, Martin was extremely close to his younger sister, Kristen. When Kristen was not doing well in school, he tutored her and helped her improve her grades. The two were almost inseperable. During their freetime, they would often play with each other till they tire. However, Kristen's personality started to change, and the two drifted away from each other. Fortunately, they eventually made up.
Despite both of his parents being archaeologists, Martin developed a love for machines and became interested in how they worked. When it was time for university, he decided to pursue a degree in engineering. His parents were against it at first, it was only after Kristen stood up for him that they allowed him to do it.
One fine day, Kristen approached him with a letter. It was supposedly a letter from a faraway island lost to time. After some convincing, he agreed to go along with her to the Isle of Steam.
