Daerk was born out of a madman's experiments in the desert with untamed magic. Through this he took on his humanlike form and gained the capacity for human emotion. When he was birthed he was in great pain, and the imp in him attacked everything in sight. He escaped, confused and alone. Humanoids in this world are not born with wings, so he was met with all sorts of reactions from those he came across. Blackmist managed to capture him and bring him before Shi Teffo. From there he was used as inspiration for creating Rouge as she appears now. He is treated more like a creature than a person, with Starla looking after him, and he resents Shi Teffo greatly. Yet, it seems like it would be a lot harder to leave than it would be to stay.
