Appearance

Gale is a large, rather bulky looking Gryphon with dark brown feathers and fur, lighter colored underbelly, and white front legs. He walks with a rather slow, lumbering gait but don’t be fooled by this. When needed, Gale is capable of running great speeds. His wings are rather large and broad, usually kept tucked in against his sides. In order to get his large body of the ground his wings need to be powerful, and they are. However Gale has a hard time staying airborne for prolonged amounts of time and prefers to travel on the ground. His fur is thick, covering much of his body. It is assumed his body is littered with scars from his services in the war, though they are hard to see through his mess of fur and feathers. There is a chunk missing from one of his ears, an old battle wound.

Nestling-Fledgeling

Gale was born into a small family who resided in the capitol of the Northern Kingdom. He was the oldest of his siblings and immediately made his authority known to his younger siblings. Gale was bossy and demanding and usually took more than his fair share, especially when it came to meals. Thankfully, he began to mellow out as he aged and turned from bossy and self centered into giving and thoughtful. One thing that never seemed to mellow out was his curiosity towards the outside world. His parents never let him wander far from the city, even as he grew older.

Sub-adult

The moment he was able to Gale moved out of the stuffy city life and to the countryside. He wanted to experience all the wonders the world had to offer outside the capitol. He never felt like he truly fit in among the crowd of higher classed Avus. He seemed to have inherited his father's country roots. Gale enrolled himself into a small school and took on various classes in all kinds of occuptations and yet nothing seemed to stick. Feeling disappointed he dropped out of school and traveled around, picking up work where he could. He ended up becoming a farmhand's apprentice for a time.

Adult

Gale was around the age of 7 when he decided to join the war effort. Life had become stale and too routine for his tastes. What he longed for was adventure and heroism. Even though he knew next to nothing about combat, he eagerly began his training. After a few months he was placed in a large fleet of fellow gryphus and served under the command of Captain Maelstrom. They were send to aid dromaeus against the hippus and given to serve under Reprise, a female dromaeus. Their battles were fierce with heavy losses on both sides. Gale watched as more and more of his comrades fell around him, but he pressed on as it was his duty to his kingdom. Though he prayed to the dragons the fighting would soon end... Reprise pushed the fleet to the bitter end, and by the time it was over they'd lost an enormous number. Traumatized from the violence, Gale returned to his home in the countryside and retired early, a deep hatred for war and violence growing in his gut. He swore to life as a pacifist, only to raise his claws in the defense of the ones he loved.
